Affordable - $100-$200 range? I don't want a set, looking to get individual med or large bags. The wheels are broken on ours and we leave next Saturday!
In fact, I am doing the same thing today! I bought a bag there last week, but I realized it’s too big. So I’m getting a different one for our trip. The nice luggage that we got for our wedding in 2007! is so heavy now compared to new sets, that I’ve been just randomly collecting new pieces as we need them.
I'll second the TJ Maxx rec;ou can find some amazing deals. I got my Briggs & Riley carry on there for $50 and it's the suitcase I travel with 99% of the time.

Let me know what you get! I have had a Samsonite set for over 20 years that I used so many times. Still in perfect condition - except the wheels just disintegrated. LOL. They are 2 wheeled, and definitely heavier than now so it will be nice to get something new. But the big bag seems SO big and now the airlines care if it's over 50 lbs (I pack until a bag is full and they have always let me through!). I just don't want something that will fall apart after 1 trip.
I travel a fair amount for work and love the TravelPro Maxlite luggage.
Travelpro Maxlite 5 Softside Expandable Upright 2 Wheel Carry on Luggage, Lightweight Suitcase, Men and Women, Ensign Blue, Carry On 22-Inch a.co/d/1epDQHF
I have the 22” carry on size, and got DH one when we needed to replace his carry on luggage. I typically carry on, it babe also checked the bag, and it’s held up great.
TravelPro for sure. It really holds up. I've never found anything else that lasts nearly as long, plus they sell spare parts so if a wheel or something breaks, you can replace it easily! I travel frequently so I sprung for the TravelPro Platinum Elite spinner and also got one for my notoriously frugal boyfriend and he won't stop talking about how much he loves his. For a recent international trip I purchased a large 25" Maxlite spinner and i'm impressed how lightweight it is. I buy from either TravelPro's website (they often have discounts) or Amazon depending which is a better deal, but I've also purchased them from Macy's I think. Sometimes TJ Maxx has them, but I've heard conflicting reports on whether they're fakes.
ETA: I found out recently that their customer service is amazing. I had a wheel fall off of a piece of luggage that was over 10 years old, and otherwise in perfect condition. I reached out for a replacement part, but they had discontinued the model and didn't have the parts. So they gave me a discount code for 50% off a new piece of luggage!
