We have to send in Easter eggs for my daughters preschool hunt this week and I have spent the better part of an hour just trying to get these damn eggs to close. This seems like poor product design that should have been rectified years ago.
DD is texting me on the verge of tears because she is being bullied at school. F this girl and her attitude towards my daughter. DD doesn't want me to get involved as she said that would be embarrassing but it obviously needs to stop.

Speaking of Easter eggs…
I went to Walmart today because I needed some Easter things. One of the things was an Easter egg dyeing kit and…they had none. And no place for them like they’d ever been there. I went on the app and searched for PAAS in store and nothing came up, asked a worker and he couldn’t find them either. I was like oh shoot so I looked a the Targe app and they also had zero Paas kits and they had about two left of their spritz brand. I have one on store pick up order, but haven’t gotten a confirmation yet.

I spent a couple of hours doing homework this weekend, because the syllabus said it was due. The prof said late yesterday afternoon that nothing is due this week. I'm pissed. And it's not like I can reuse the homework for this upcoming week.

And I’m mad at myself for giving my kids the option of a prepackaged kit or our own mugs and food coloring-vinegar. Naturally they chose the messier/less disposable option 😫

This is how we did it growing up and the colors are much more vivid. I don't find it any messier than using the tablets. That said - for some reason I hate doing Easter eggs. It's the kind of thing that is right up my alley and I loved it as a kid. Maybe it's because I want to dye all the eggs myself? LOL My sister always came to stay for Easter and did them with my son but we haven't gotten back in that groove post- shut downs. I am glad our vacation is an excuse to skip it this year!

I saw a reel over the weekend where someone bought a big bag of assorted name brand candy marketed as "egg fillers" and then the candy wouldn't fit in the eggs lol. I don't have kids, so no stuffing eggs for me, but this is totally something that would happen to me if I did.

Every once in a while I get a flash of anger towards exH, mostly about things that he took from the house before the divorce was finalized. Yesterday I was reminded that he stole my basket from the back of the toilet that I use to store extra rolls. Before that it was the new shower head that I bought. And I still get mad/annoyed that he stole my can opener and replaced it with some old janky thing that wasn't even the same color as mine. I might never get over that one.

I love an egg hunt but share your complaint about the eggs.
I was gone Thursday and Friday for my DS's baseball tournament in another state. I wrote very clear and thorough sub plans. My sub came Thursday armed with a slideshow about her European travels. Spent 45 minutes talking at my students without any consideration for the work they needed to get done in my absence. She did this for three of my four classes, no clue why she didn't show the 4th but now my classes are off.

I grabbed the last couple at Target yesterday. Spritz was all they had left. I've never had this hard of a time finding the kits!
David was sick last week, and now H is sick this week. Please let me not get sick, please let me not get sick.... He went to the doctor today and at least it's not strep or Covid. We've had a lot of sickness in our house this year! We're usually pretty healthy but it's been a lot this year.
My brother was complaining about how hard it is to be on vacation with his kids at a hotel with no help. Like, just him and his wife and the kids. Because they can't do anything on their own. Including revisit this place he and his wife went when they went on a solo vacation to the same place last year.
This is the first vacation they've ever taken where a sibling, friend, or parent didn't come along and help out and watch their kids. His oldest is 6.
He is very very lucky he is several states away from me because I would have punched him right in the nads.

Does Lucy still like to dye eggs? David always wants to do it. I ask him every year expecting this is the year he'll say no, but he always wants to.
Also I hate that no one in my family ever changes the gross kitchen towels. If I don't do it, they use the same ones forever.
Guys! There's sauce on that one! Put it in the laundry ffs.
Last week I literally saw David wipe water off the floor with our clean kitchen towel then PUT IT BACK ON THE COUNTER as it it were clean. We had a long chat after that.

Biggest eye roll ever. He sounds insufferable. Welcome to life for almost everyone else.

Break out your markers for Easter eggs! DH's family does cascarones - hollowed out egg shells that are colored with markers, filled with confetti, closed with glued TP, and we crack them over each other's heads on Easter. LOL

I've run through my EAP counseling sessions, but decided I might try to stick with this counselor and go through my insurance. I swear we agreed to two weeks in between since I'm paying OOP, however I have a meeting request for a session tonight when I thought we meet next week. I was planning on staying in tonight and trying to recharge as I would have taken a sick day if I could. I wrote back to clarify the date, but I don't think the counselor will see it in time, so either I go and pay a lot for the session through insurance, or pay a cancellation fee.
My car thankfully got fixed ($$$), but DH's is still broken. They can fix it, but need a part, so we're down a car a few more days. This is throwing off my whole week, especially not knowing when his car will go back to get fixed.
I thought DH was working on Easter this year so I just planned to see my dad alone, and now that DH is off we're re-grouping visits and schedules. I need a long vacation.

cville, my dad's towels are like that. Even his HHA who insists on doing the laundry (fine with me) only washes it every so often. Seriously towels get washed every week, throw in the kitchen ones too folks!
@@@ Also your sibling needs to check their privilege at the door. As a non-parent I see having extra family go on vacation (typically on the children's parents dime BTW) as limited to the very rich and/or lucky enough to have extra family to go around. Welcome to traditional family vacation buddy, lol.

Speaking of NYT games- has anyone else tried strands? I played 3 days so far, using hints on 2 puzzles (including today)
I am very meh so far on strands. It's definitely buggy (which is expected since it's in beta). I REALLY struggled with yesterday's theme. I had to use 2 hints before I even had an inkling of what the fuck they were going for. Based on the title, my mind went to synchronicity, then military, then I really dug deep and went to canals. None of them were even remotely close.
My highest paid employee (a fellow doctor) is mad at me because I didn't give her a raise.
With the inflation of the past few years, she is unfortunately the last in line for a raise. I made this clear to her months ago when she asked - that she either needed to find a new job that paid her more (unlikely she'd find something but possible) or start buying into some ownership of the office so if the office makes more, she makes more. She declined to buy in. But she made a comment this weekend that demonstrated she did not think it was fair that I turned her request down.
Ugh. I like working with her but moments like these make being the boss sucky.

I am still angry that I lent my college roommates my set of Rubbermaid glass bowls for the semester that I traveled. And when I came back and we shared an apartment senior year they were all “tra la la” that they lost the lids. The lids were the best part!
So, I get your furry. The only thing that got me over it was replacing the lids … years later. Don’t wait years. Go nuts and replace all of it with better stuff.
