Dear Body -

We are on Day 3. Can we start to turn the corner today? I'm so bored with being on the couch and I'd like to start to feel normal again. A day to recover is nice. But I'd like to start being able to exist without the body aches, fever sweats, and general fatigue.

Dear DH -

I ask you for very little. I know you had to go to the beach house today to meet with the contractor - fine. All I asked was that you take the dog with you since we will have people working in the yard today and that always sends him into a complete barking tailspin. I know you had a busy day of meetings... he would have been content to just sniff around a place that he hasn't seen in a while, run around a yard he hasn't seen in a bit with different animals to chase, and just lay at your feet without people walking by the windows all day. I feel like a bag of garbage.

Your response? "I'd rather not."

Cooooool cool cool. I really appreciate the help. I especially love the "Just ask me when you need help! You never ask!" comments... why do you think that is? That I never ask? Is it because of crappy responses like that?

Why do we spend the time and energy to train me and go to all these meetings to learn skills if when I try to incorporate things I've learned I am met with nah....let's just do what we did last time. If you want to argue with everything I come up with, you do it. I'll just sit here and check boxes. It all pays the same.

I ordered something for our desk. I wanted smaller and lighter color the other person wanted larger and darker color. It looks terrible, and they went ahead and installed it and threw away the packaging. No one thought to check with me. I was gone literally one day. At least keep the packaging to see if I, the person in charge of the entire department, likes it so we can return it.

Wow, you really knock out a grown up way more than a kid, huh? My throat hurts, I've got chills, and I'm exhausted. DD1 is back to completely fine and good to go after 2 days on antibiotics. I hope mine kick in like that tomorrow!

West coast travel next week, running a full week of activities in the office as soon as I'm back, DC trip after that, all while trying to finish my capstone project and make it to graduation in mid-May. Dear USA Gymnastics
Why do I have 1700 medals for 3-8 place but only 43 gold medals and 38 silver medals. I don't even have enough gold and silver to do one session. When our meet director picked these up you assured her we had enough. We have old state medals form previous years but aren't supposed to use them but the closest new medals are in Seattle and none of us have time to drive 6 hours one way to pick them up.
Not enthused about having to be creative with awards.

Dear self,

Stop being so cheap. You found a hair stylist and liked her cuts. She changed salons and increased her prices. So what? So you decided to be cheap and try someone new. And now instead of spending on an expensive cut for someone you knew could cut it the way you like, you have a midpriced cut that you hate and will likely be hating your hair until you can get in with either te expensive person you know or another expensive person in an attempt to fix it.

PS: This is not the first time this EXACT FLIPPING SCENARIO has happened. I don't know how my hair has been botched so many times.

PPS: I'm still trying to track down my hair stylist "Luc" who I left because he was an expensive cut combined with weirdo hippy dippy anti-vax (precovid even) and alternative health advice. He left that salon and I haven't found him since and I desperately want him back.

No but I would go back to the same salon and ask that they have someone more experienced fix it.

mommyatty, I'm such a wuss. I also shouldn't admit it, but I've had more than one bad haircut at this salon from more than one stylist. Which... they have great reviews, so it doesn't make sense!

Dear 2nd hairstylist.

Thank you so much for fixing Dds botched hair. She drove all the way back from school and I know it was hard to get her in, but she loves it. It is such a confidence boost. I didn't realize how botched, and apparently incompetent, it was until I realized what she really wanted and how good it looks now.

Dear WP,

A hair update that no one really wanted. I washed and styled my hair myself. (It had been cut Wednesday, Thursday I just brushed it out and went). It doesn't look as bad. My neighbor actually asked for a referral to the stylist. I'm still not in love with it, but I'm not desperately trying to get into another salon to fix it before we leave on vacation.
