We walked up to our house and our neighbors’ daughter and 5 of her friends were on our round tree swing. They ran off when we came closer and the swing was broken.
And then you walked next door and asked her how she was planning to fix or replace the swing, right?
It’s DS2’s birthday today. Last night we went to a local intense escape room place (30 plus “adventures” each involving 2-6 mini escape rooms you need to get through but only have two minutes in each room, plus each room has unknown rules you need to figure out - so you are constantly getting booted out and needing to start over. Extremely fun and hard/frustrating at the same time). Today we got fancy donuts and did his two requests - Olive Garden and Target lol
DH and DS1 are going to the Illinois/U Conn game tonight and I’ll be baking. The birthday today, Easter tomorrow, and DH’s birthday Tuesday = excessive sugar
We're leaving for Ireland today. I don't know how we've managed to pull this off. I'm worried about leaving the dog with a stranger we found online. (she's wonderful and who better to judge people than my highly suspicious german shepherd who adores her) It's just weird to get to this time where there is no time left to plan or research. What's done is done and now we get to live it. When I think of the hell of getting to the aiport, flying and getting a rental car I can't breathe. But when I'm standing on Grafton Street in Dublin all of it will wash away!! I decided to bring as many pairs of shoes as I damn well please and I think it's the right decision. LOL
Have an amazing time! Can’t wait to hear all about it - we are under 3 weeks now until we leave!!!!!

As of yesterday I have a painful spot right at the edge of my chest, like between my armpit and my boob. There is also a lump. Logic tells me that if it only started hurting yesterday and got worse after I did an arm workout and is now acutely painful, it's probably some kind of pectoral injury. But obviously a part of my brain is freaking out and kicking myself for never doing self-exams to have a baseline of how that area usually feels. I made an appointment with a doctor on Monday just in case, but I would love to wake up magically better tomorrow!

emilyinchile I hope it's nothing serious, but good to get it checked out. What is the countdown to the wedding now? Am thinking it is soon right? Are you going on a honeymoon?

2 weeks! We're not going on a honeymoon right away because my dad and stepmom will be here until early May, but hopefully sometime after that we'll be able to take a few days to go somewhere.

I feel like I remember reading that lumps that hurt are very rarely cancer. So if that’s what you’re worried about, maybe that can ease your mind.

I posted in MM about some issues my stepsister is having with my stepmom. Aside, fucking scammers who prey on the elderly can die a fiery death a thousand times over.
But my side of the "aging parent" coin isn't any better this weekend. 91-year-old Mom still lives on her own, very firmly her choice, living entirely on the first floor now. She woke up last night around 1 am to a bang, dreamed or real, we don't know but no obvious damage. But she went into a panic, convinced that I was at her house upstairs, had fallen, and was now in desperate need of help. Understand, I live in my own home ~5 miles away and haven't stayed at her house in about 10 years. She was at my house last weekend due to a power/heat outage, which I think is part of what was going on in her head. Anyway, Mom called my brother and he had to talk her down, eventually convincing her that I wasn't at the house and lying in pool of blood upstairs.
So, this morning, I had to have a conversation with Mom that this is one step closer to the point where we say, "that's it, you can't live on your own anymore. You have to move in with me or to a senior home." Joy joy.
Then I called my sister to catch her up and typically, I got to listen to a 15-minute talk on her life, saying "huh, uh-uh, wow" every few minutes. Never a single question about my life, that's a little too much to ask for.
I'm wrapping up the end of a 14 day work stretch. Between my 2 jobs, I put in 96 hours these last 2 weeks.
I did groceries Wednesday night and got home and there was a Pepsi that exploded so I was washing the fridge at 10pm. I did a chunk of the Easter shopping last night to finish it up.
Today was 6-10a shift but I'm off tomorrow and don't work my 2nd job again until next Sunday!
DH & I divided and conquered the house work after we both got home from work (he works 2 jobs too)
Now we are finally relaxing on the deck. It's a little cool and breezy but I just love the sun on my face.
DH will cook up some burgers on the grill shortly and I will head up to assemble the baskets and fill eggs and that should make for a relaxing Easter.
I'm not cooking (except breakfast and making a salad) since we are off to my sisters.
Oh and I boiled eggs and we will dye them after dinner 🤣
Fake nails on an 11 1/2 year old girl, is this a thing.
My dd is 12, and has been wearing press-on nails for over a year occasionally (they are the perfect thing to get her for stocking stuffers and Easter baskets and whatnot), so I say yes. She wears the small ones (mostly KISS Impress petite ones) often with gems on them and stuff, like in the middle of a snowflake or on snowman buttons, so I thought they were cute and totally age appropriate. She'd been painting her nails for a year or so before that, but these look much nicer and are easier so why not?

Ok I'm not being pearl clutchy just curious. I have an acquaintance whose daughter has them, I'm positive they were done in a salon though but they have the cash. 🤣🤷♀️

Try a warm compress. It could be muscular, but it could also be something in the breast tissue. A warm compress can ease both
With DD being in the hospital most of the last week and a half, I completely forgot to get Easter candy. Of course, DH forgot also, so a little while ago I went to the store and there was nothing left except black jelly beans. I knew pickings would be slim, but there was nothing. I ended up getting some non-Eastery candy and called DH to leave his thing and try to get something.
I did not feel bad at all about asking DH to run around to get anything, even if it means missing his weekly gaming night.
Last day in Tenerife. It was cloudy this morning so we went for a long walk and it got sunny as the walk went on. So we ended up at the pool and sat under the shade for a few hours (I burn easily so I'm not someone who likes being in the sun a ton). We'll have our final dinner and then go to the show they are providing (Chinese acrobats) later in the evening. Checked into the flight and we'll pack tonight. Sigh. It's a shame the beach was closed again due to surging water but at least we got to go 4 times (H loves to ride the waves).
Oh hey… just last night I was looking at Tenerife. But for a Christmas vacation. I got talked into Malta instead. From what I saw, neither would be good for swimming in December. But it seems they would be like our Christmas in Sanibel. 65* and sunny. So good for walking around and being outside. And sun. I booked a room, but then I looked at flights and it’s a pain to get to Malta. Really, the problem is it’s a pain to fly to Europe from BWI, but Dulles is just such I hike.
Today I was running on the treadmill and this enormous spider (like the size of a chicken egg) scampered across the floor and under the treadmill. I’m not necessarily scared of spiders, esp if the are minding their business, but this thing was huge and hairy and thick and I had this nightmare scenario of it attaching itself to the belt and riding up and then crawling on me. So that was a big fat nope.

I’ve been there! Super fun. I wish they were everywhere!

I think we just did the same thing as a team builder in Kansas City. It was SO fun! I wish they had one here.

If you are in south Tenerife, you can go swimming in December - it's an all year round place. We had around 20-24C temps and were very happy to go to the beach (which is not unusual in Tenerife in the winter - it tends to stay around low to mid-20s most of the year).
