Oh hey… just last night I was looking at Tenerife. But for a Christmas vacation. I got talked into Malta instead. From what I saw, neither would be good for swimming in December. But it seems they would be like our Christmas in Sanibel. 65* and sunny. So good for walking around and being outside. And sun. I booked a room, but then I looked at flights and it’s a pain to get to Malta. Really, the problem is it’s a pain to fly to Europe from BWI, but Dulles is just such I hike.
If you are in south Tenerife, you can go swimming in December - it's an all year round place. We had around 20-24C temps and were very happy to go to the beach (which is not unusual in Tenerife in the winter - it tends to stay around low to mid-20s most of the year).
Oooh. Hmmm… this is a hard choice. It’s cheaper to fly to the Canary Islands. But English and history are swaying toward Malta. And H is all “why can’t we just go to Aruba again?” I want something different.
