Biden, “This conflict has been one of the worst in recent memory in terms of how many aid workers have been killed. This is a major reason why distributing humanitarian aid in Gaza has been so difficult – because Israel has not done enough to protect aid workers trying to deliver desperately needed help to civilians.”

I think what he forgot to say was "difficult because Israel deliberately targeted them". Their convoy was very obviously marked and planned with Israel....and then targeted.
I was going to start a new thread and post this. Its absolute insanity. The convoy was targeted by a drone. Which means they clearly knew what they were hitting. Because wait for it.....they incorrectly (shocker) suspected a terrorist was inside one of the vans. The excuse they use for every single fucking thing they do.
And Israel just approved 3500 more illegal settlements in the West Bank. On Palestinian land. How can they approve that? How can they continue to do that? Because the world lets them do whatever they want without consequences.
Fuck the Israeli leadership that continues to prevent any chance at peace by continuing to do things like that and what its doing in Gaza.
Before anyone comes in here and tries to say this board is turning into an anti-Israel board, maybe there should be some evaluation of what Israel is doing that is not ok and condemning actions that are shitty no matter what country is committing them. The same way we do for the US and Russia, etc. I am not saying fuck Jewish people. I am not being anti-semetic in saying fuck Israeli leadership that isn't even legitimately in office and who have people rioting in the streets to remove.
And now other aid agencies like Anera are halting their aid missions because it’s too dangerous for their staff and the people they are trying to help.
This is not a war. All rules of war don’t seem to apply. This is an extermination and a genocide and the whole world has realized it.

I think we're mostly educated enough here to separate people from their government. I surely appreciate when people don't associate me with W or Trump. But I'll take the label if it means I'm against genocide, targeting food relief, ffs, celebrating future seaside resorts.
I'm in a country that is 100% pro-Palestine to occasional offensive levels. The US ambassador here just had a press conference saying he supports the rights of the protests in front of the US embassy (agree!) but also said things like immediate ceasefire, 2 state solution, which I think is not the official US position atm. I could be wrong about that, but it struck me as more than what the WH is currently saying. He said this just before the murders of food delivery.

basilosaurus This board has been accused of being anti Israel so no, I don't think everyone is able to separate a government and its people.
Because of who I am, I want to always make it clear that my anger is not directed at Judaism or Jewish people. I know my opinion is not popular with many who believe all the land should be returned to Palestinians, but I advocate for two countries that can hopefully one day live side by side. That can't happen when one occupies the other and continues to build illegal settlements on land that is not theirs. These conflicts can not continue to always be blamed on Palestinians and their alleged refusal to work towards peace.
but they're going to investigate themselves so that'll surely bring some consequences, right? /s
They will blame Palestinians.
If Palestinians who have lived in Palestine for as far back as time would just leave Palestine already and let Israelis and Jewish people from California have all the land, there wouldn't be a need to deliver food to them. They endangered aid workers by purely existing. It's their fault.

of course they will. all they have to say is "HAMAS" and they're off the hook.

Israel has basically said oops, my bad, denying it was intentional but not blaming Palestinians or hamas. It's horrible that that's an actual improvement in their sop
We're quickly accelerating towards the turning point where Israel will have no allies or support left....
Are we? At least as far as the US government is concerned I wish it felt like meaningful support for Israel’s military was waning, but aside from lip service to ceasefire and the need for humanitarian aid it doesn’t seem that way to me.
It’s actually sort of terrifying that things have gone on this long in Gaza and we haven’t seen a bigger and clearer shift in US policy. So much has been documented about the genocide and civilian deaths and conditions for Palestinians and yet the needle has barely moved.
This is obviously super US-centric and I suspect other countries that typically support Israel may be pulling back in light of the current IDF actions.
Will this change policy or minds? Quite likely not. But I love how passionate he is about what he does. I know he served some my friends and family personally and his workers served for months after hurricane Dorian.

I agree (and also hi! So good to see you here ). I truly don't understand why the US hasn't changed policy on this - it seems like that's what the majority of people want - but I guess I could say that about most things here these days. I am so disgusted with our leadership for continuing to align with a genocide. I know political allyships are complicated, but come on.
I also think World Kitchen is an amazing organization and I'm so upset that they were targeted like this. I've donated to them recently specifically to support their aid work in Gaza and it just breaks my heart that it has to stop now, and that several lives were lost. This war is causing so much suffering.
Continued refusal to accept a two state solution means there will never be peace in the region.
The current leadership, neither of which have been fairly elected, have repeatedly said they have no interest in 2 states. So around and around we go killing innocent people caught in the fuckery of egotistical men in the name of religion, which is the root of so much hate and death and land ownership and self governance.
From January 25 to March 21, the UN Office for the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) documented reports of at least 26 attacks on civilians waiting for much-needed supplies at Al Nabulsi roundabout on Al Rashid Street and Al Kuwaiti roundabout on Salaheddin Street in Gaza City.
The IDF lied about what happened? Their report of events don't add up and are not able to be corroborated by experts? Look at my shocked face.
Ask any Palestinian if that is news to them. Its status quo.
I would say that the IDF is delusional in thinking people believe them, but it's been decades of their fuckery with barely any accountability or repercussions so maybe it's not delusion. It's a learned, encouraged behavior.
