I got little sleep last night. I just kept picturing Steve and Dante at Enterprise and wanting to pop their little heads off for giving us the run around for a hour yesterday. Still no rental, but DH is WFH, so I have his truck. Then I get to leave early, get him, go to another Enterprise and cross everything they have a car like they said they would.
What’s a reasonable about of time to ask for hair to be fixed after a cut? I got it cut last Monday (25th) on Friday I noticed it looked off. I was kind of going back and forth because sometimes it looked fine and sometimes it doesn’t. Today I realized why it looks off - face frame was done on one side and not the other, so if I have it pinned back or tucked behind my ears you don’t notice but when it’s down/not tucked you can tell.
Anyway I am going to call today to get it fixed but since it’s been a week and a half has it “been too long”? I guess my question is should I expect to pay for it?
oh snap. magnolia is pushing me through fast track because i told them i had an offer from sax. they doubled the money sax offered me. i met with two vps and the prez of operations yesterday. today they're having me do a trial shift at the most busy store to see if i'm a "culture fit."
It was 76 upstairs last night. I broke down and turned on the AC for about 90 minutes to cool it down. It rained overnight. By tomorrow morning it will be in the 30s. Spring in ATL!

fernweh, I don't think that's too long, but I also have social anxiety so I'd dread making that call even 1 day after the cut. I hope it works out though!
Congrats vicky, that's exciting! I hope you are able to tell which job will be a better fit for you.
My ds leaves tomorrow morning for a band trip to Orlando, and my anxiety is going into overdrive a bit about it (he's 14 and a freshman so this will be his 1st). He's gone to camp for a week in the summer before, but this is less supervised than that. He will be in charge of taking his own medicine (for ADHD and allergies) even though there's a nurse on the trip and a chaperone in charge of his 'group' who will remind him. This morning I asked if he wanted to pack right after school or after an appt. I'm taking DD to this afternoon, and he was like, I can just pack myself at some point tonight. And I was like, um, no, it's not that I don't trust you, but for my anxiety and sleep's sake, I need to supervise your packing please thank you.

I thought for sure I was on an episode of What Would You Do yesterday. I paid cash for my breakfast yesterday. Not only did the cashier ask me how much change she needed to give me, but she asked me to count it to make sure it was right. Do the tills not do the math for you? Regardless, it was very simple math.
fernweh, I think you’re fine to get it fixed now. You didn’t get a correct cut. A week won’t change that! And sometimes it takes a few days to realize whether you like a new cut or color before you can make your decision. In your case, your stylist missed half your head. Mistakes happen, but it should definitely be fixed. Since it was a mistake, and not just that you “don’t like it” I would be shocked if they charged you. If you let them know that you’re coming in for a correction, it should definitely be free of charge. I’d still tip your stylist, though!
fernweh I'd say two weeks. I've certainly called at 7-8 days and asked that the cut be fixed. A good stylist will say yes and want to keep you as a client. If they can't fix it in a reasonable time frame, ask if someone else is available.
This past haircut I thought the sides were just a tad off (maybe 1/4"). My stylist said no, but let's blow dry and check. Sure enough, they were just a tad off. He fixed it and said "good eye."
This midwest weather is BLEAK. Three straight days of cold, rain, wind and gray. I am watching snow fall outside right now after getting 3 inches of rain the previous days. I mean we need the rain. But this is why spring in the midwest is my absolute least favorite season. I am so happy I don't have kids in baseball this year for the first time in 10 years. My ass would be sitting out in this as even the rec leagues don't believe in cancelling for miserable weather.
ssmjlm , sorry about your rental car situation. That reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry's trying to rent a car. "You know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to HOLD the reservation."
I don't know what to do. It's been steadily raining here for days and our schools are virtual today due to flooding. I'm supposed to take DS to a dentist appt. 45 minutes away. Currently, the two roads I could take to get there are closed in spots due to flooding but I have no idea if they could eventually be open by 2pm when we need to leave. It's probably better and less stressful to just call and reschedule now, but the dentist himself is hard to make an appointment with and it'll probably be another month or more. This is just an appointment to get sealants on his molars, it's not even a cleaning. My stupid anxiety is telling me that if I postpone this he'll probably get cavities, which will be my fault, which is ridiculous.

I set my alarm for 7:10 today so I could sleep in an extra hour since I went to bed late and was really tired. I woke up at 6:14. Body. Please.
In toooootally unrelated news, the pre-wedding anxiety is real. I just need all the final little bits to be done, but they depend on other people, and in the meantime I also have a ton going on at work, and ahhhhhhhhhh!
This morning was shockingly drama free getting the kids up and to school, especially since it's the first day back after spring break.
My office has an all hands this morning, and then pizza and bowling this afternoon. It'll be nice to head home a couple hours early, but I'm also now frantically trying to get all of my actual work done in a very short amount of time this morning. I'm probably going to have to log back in at home, whomp whomp.

My hematology appointment yesterday went as well I could have hoped. I knew something was wrong, but was praying to remain outpatient and I WILL BE!
I do have to have a Picc line placed and 14 days of IV infusion and the hospital is about a 40 minute drive away, so while inconvenient I’m thrilled! I should be receiving a call today to schedule the insertion and then I’ll be all set to start.
My poor mom already agreed to drive me to these daily appointments thus ensuring I’m going to have to get her something extra fabulous for Mothers Day.
expectantsteelerfan Can you give DS a dry run at packing himself? Like he has 45 minutes on the clock and then you can go over what he packed and what he missed together? If that’s too time consuming or a dumb idea, please ignore as I’m not a parent.
My kid turns 16 this month and I was talking to him last night about how he might want to celebrate.
Him: well, it's hard because my birthday just falls at a bad time of year
Me (with a June birthday who never gets to celebrate bc it's such a busy end of school year/beginning of vacations time): really? You don't think people will be around?
Him (dead serious): well snow boarding season is over and mountain biking season hasn't started, so there's nothing really to do 🤣
OMG kid. He then had the idea that he get his driving permit and drive into NYC that weekend. I gently suggested that NYC driving may not be "first day with a driver's permit" friendly LOL.

I was in full day meetings/work groups for the last two days offsite from my office, so I came back this morning to a lot of voicemails and emails. It feels like a Monday, not a Wednesday. It's super rainy and it's supposed to storm on and off all day. It has already been raining pretty steadily for the past two days, so it's beginning to feel like I live in the Pacific Northwest. My backyard is a swamp and my dog likes to go out and just stand there instead of doing her business and coming back inside. I need some sunshine ASAP.
I have been having restless legs in the evenings so bad lately. I had it 25 years ago when I was pregnant with my kids and then it went away. It has returned and it is miserable. Some nights are ok and others...ugh. I read magnesium can help but takes time to build up in the system so I'm like a week in and hoping it will start to help soon. Monday night was alright, last night was awful. I'm so tired of it.
We were supposed to be hit with a pretty bad storm and I was hoping I could at least work from home today. The entire UP is closed except for the most northern point, which is of course where I live. My university never closes for weather but I didn't think a work from home day should have been too much to hope for. So instead its just sloppy and crappy with winds at like 35 mph. 40 minutes away the closings start and everything south of that is closed today, even the state university 2 hours away. DS2 is there and I bet he's happy today.

Does “Parishioners are requested to bring a Side and/or Dessert.” mean I can bring something store bought? I was going to walk to Publix this afternoon and pick up maybe a tray or brownies or mini cupcakes (both easy to eat and no utensils required) but that wouldn’t be frowned upon, right?
I’m somewhat new to participating in church events and want to put my best foot forward. I usually just go to Mass and then leave but I want to start meeting more people and making friends.
It’s not unusual for me to stumble a few days after a holiday in terms of recovering. I can only power through so long and then fall apart well after everyone else is fully recovered. So, after overnight guests all weekend and hosting Easter, today was the day I was messy.
It reminded me of being in my 20s (oversleeping, panicked, disoriented). Haha. Don't like that, do not recommend.

penelope If the magnesium doesn’t help and you’re ok with going the Rx route, I take .5 mg of Requip (Ropinirole) nightly before bed and it worked wonders! Total game changer!
Sandy, we all feel this way on our third straight day of rain.
Seriously! When will it stop? I am so over it.
I ordered my dog a raincoat yesterday because we are both tired of having to towel him off after a walk. He was kind of naughty last night and I know it was because he has too much energy from not walking enough.

I need to start my garden seedlings this week. I'm super focused on how to get cheap potting mix and garden soil. Do I make my own? Or search around for some deals? Every year I have grand ideas and fail. I want to plan more cut flowers, but we have critters who like to eat and destroy them. For example, I started 20 sunflower seedlings, and only one flourished because it was in a raised pot. I bought a fake owl that is solar-powered. I hope that helps. Any gardeners out there? What are you doing this year?
