Today I’m going to look at a townhouse that is at the top of my budget, but my dad really wants me to see it. It’s in a great complex and is really very nice.
After that I’m taking DD to her end of season hockey party at a roller rink. If one were are good roller skater in the 1980’s, is like riding a bike where one would remember how? Asking for a friend. 😂
Speaking as a formerly decent roller skater who fractured my elbow last month roller skating... no. LOL.
Up early again to take this dog we’re sitting out. It is SO windy here, like 60+ mph gusts, so I am not looking forward to her walks today.
Winnie has a fabric kennel, which she chewed a hole through yesterday while we were out with DS1 and his friends at a trampoline place. She’s never done anything like that before, but it was absolute chaos right before we left and I made her pee and popped her in there, she she was probably understandably amped up. Anyway, since that’s where she’s slept since we got her, we went ahead and put her in bed with us last night. As far as I know thus far, she was great. Slept through the night in our bed. Didn’t get down or pee on the floor. And she’s still asleep and quiet at almost 6:30. Seems like we might have a new bed buddy.
Since we have no plans today I’m looking forward to getting home and just sitting and drinking coffee while I figure out what needs to get done errand-wise.
Were you guys affected by the Xcel outages? We had 3 small fires start up here after trees fell on power lines, so I think our power company finally did the same thing and just turned the power off to everyone until the wind dies down. After flickering for a few hours yesterday, we finally lost power from 6:30 - 9:00. It went back out at 10:00 last night and has been out since. Thankfully we finally got our big generator hooked up a month ago, so we've been fine. Our emergency services personnel are saints, especially our dispatchers. Radio chatter was insane last night.
Same in regards to the eating wildrice. Getting back in my normal work routine tomorrow will help. There's no time to snack at work and I walk a lot throughout my normal work day.
WrestleMania has been big news in our area. H and DS were close to the city yesterday so the stopped to watch some of the public events on South Street.
Then DS wanted to watch the show last night on tv. I will admit that I started off rolling my eyes. Then totally got into it. Jason Kelce! The Rock! The outfits! The entrances! The super goofy fighting! It was way more fun than I was expecting.
Lol we ended up watching it last night too. I feel like there was more emphasis on the exaggerating of the fights and the overall entertainment part of it than there used to be. Like now they are acknowledging it's a show where before they took themselves more seriously. Idk if that makes sense.
It’s Target circle week. They have 30% off a lot of clothes and shoes, so I’m waiting for E to get up and let me know if what I picked is ok.
We were going to go to Busch Gardens, but it’s too cold today and my kid is like “who wants to ride a roller coaster in the cold wind?” Good question.
So laundry, cleaning, some yard work, and tomorrow back to school after spring break.
I have a bunch of things added to cart for DD, but she is out to lunch with the grandparents and I'm waiting for her to get home to purchase. I'm pretty confident in most of it (like, she outgrew most of her shorts that I know she will definitely wear so I just added a bunch of the next size up because she def. needs those), but I have learned not to buy anything without her go-ahead anymore. I already placed one order for myself though lol.
circa1978 , Bonaire is a better fish name than Aruba.
Bonaire was my original thought but because he's kind of ruby looking so I tried out Aruba. It doesn't really work somehow though.
I have no idea why, but Bonaire seems more animal name-y to me than Aruba. Plus, naming something Aruba just begs for Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahama, Key Largo, Antigua, and so on, and that a lot in an aquarium.
side note, we are going to Aruba for Christmas, and yeah, that fucking song gets stuck in my head continuously.

I thought maybe listening to it again would satisfy whatever itch my brain is trying to scratch. But there are more musical cat videos and now I'm down the cutest rabbit hole ever 😁
Also! Someone in a professional networking FB group asked for a work formal dress recommendation. I suggested Macy's. Someone responded and said Macy's is terrible and there are so much better options and Macy's is for boomers. HOW RUDE! 1. Macy's is a pretty normal store. 2. I made the recommendation from personal experience of buying a work formal dress at Macy's.
I told her that her comment was rude and she responded:
I am not trying to be rude, but Macys is so outdated… there are tons of French/European designers (truly chic) available online that offer free shipping and return! Sezane, Roujie, Staud to name a couple. There is Bloomingdale’s/Nordstrom offering much better options than Macys.

Omg. So rude and elitist.
Obvs everyone should just order from a French chic designer!

wildrice, I reset this past Monday. I'm Day 7 and can already feel a difference. I am proud of myself. I have a long road ahead of me, for all kinds of reasons, but being a week in, I am motivated to keep going.

Thankfully, no. We’re in south Denver suburbs and I think they cut power up north near Boulder. It honestly hasn’t been nearly as bad as I expected it to be! Some gusty winds, but it’s tapering off as the day goes on.

My parents are just south of Longmont and had their power cut last evening. They were hosting a birthday dinner party and ended up still having it by candle light. My mom said they are supposed to get power back sometime this afternoon.

I'm near Chatfield, half our subdivision has no power since Saturday because the newer homes on Xcel. We are in the older part of the subdivision so we've had power the whole time. The wind was really bad here from 5pm thur 8am. Now we don't have internet because Xfinity runs on Xcel energy, they aren't expecting to get back on until sometime tomorrow. I WFH so I have to figure out a plan b to be able to work. But I'd rather have this than a wildfire.

I love Sezane and Staud but, my gosh, they’re expensive! I mean, they’re probably out of budget for a lot of people.

Tomorrow I have to go back to work after a little over a week of vacation. Ugh, I am not looking forward to that. Plus I have a 5:30 am, so that is a sucky way to start the first day back.
We had a nice day. It was absolutely gorgeous spring weather here. I took a long walk, did a bunch of laundry and tidied up the house, ordered groceries, the usual Sunday stuff. DS had a birthday party from 3-5 at a park where they played baseball and ate hot dogs and played on the playground, and he had a good time. Picked up the groceries on the way back and made pasta & Caesar salad for dinner and relaxed.
DS has a 12:45pm dismissal tomorrow and I am not planning on doing much work in the PM, so that we can watch the eclipse in the backyard, so it's going to be an odd Monday.
I need a name for my new betta. He is a white/magenta and purple half moon, very pretty. His tank mate will be a blue mystery snail named Curacao. Our previous pair were Turks and Caicos. Caicos is enormous and got moved to a bigger tank and Turks moved on to bluer waters last month. I was thinking Aruba but it doesn't seem to be sticking.
With the reddish color I thought Grenadine. Grenadine, (white) crème de cacao, and blue Curaçao are the three ingredients in my favorite layered shot, an American flag. www.thespruceeats.com/red-white-and-blue-shot-759785

We'll get there fast, but then we'll take it slow. Sounds like Christmas for sure!
All the cats I've had in the last few years, adopted, fostered, kept, have had a vaguely food theme. I see nothing wrong with a theme of islands for them. There are 700 islands in Bahamas alone. I can help you out! Admittedly you'll probably not want elbow or man of war, but abaco or eleuthera might be nice. You can even go with sandy.
