sdlaura lice is the worst, missing planes and travel delays are the worst, not having everything for a business trip and feeling scattered is the worst. Hopefully it can only go up from here.
The efficiency of your lice situation is impressive. We don't have that type of salon that I know, so when dd had lice I spiraled for an entire weekend, bought all the products and tools plus about $500 more dollars because I threw out pillows, brushes, blankets...I really hate infestation type bugs.
Thanks, ladies. rere when my kids had lice pre-covid, we had a service come to the house, but this time I found a woman who used to do in home service who just opened a salon for it. It cost me like $800 including tip for the whole family, but I can use my FSA.
Luckily today is way better - there was nowhere to go but up after yesterday. Last night I took my delayed flight, stopped at Target and bought a cheap suit jacket, and got to my hotel at like 10:30 pm. I slept pretty well, then woke up to this view (wish I would have gotten here earlier yesterday to be able to enjoy the fancy hotel more!) and covered my forehead cut with makeup.
And my conference panel went well. It probably wasn’t the most riveting panel (the topic was bond investing) but I accomplished my goal with these things, which is always not to look or sound like an idiot onstage, and get some exposure for my firm and for me. Now on to Napa, where the rental house owner is letting me check in early so I can do two virtual meetings this afternoon.
I’ve been to North Dakota for business too librarychica! On that trip, I left my winter jacket on the plane and had to buy one at k-mart. Hmm, there seems to be a theme here of me leaving/forgetting jackets. I blame living in a climate where you don’t often need a jacket.
My clients tend to be in now very exciting places, but conferences are generally in nice ones. They used to be a lot more fun pre kids, when I didn’t just try to get in an out as quickly as possible.
