I genuinely don't have a formed opinion on this. It's *very* clear that the US is unwilling to make the changes needed to slow/stop climate change. I think people have been banking on technology to save us.

My gut feel is that we're (general) going to start throwing money at things like this because we can't fathom changing our daily lives, and in the end we'll end up in a much worse situation much faster.

I'm pretty nervous about geoengineering climate solutions with so little understanding of their long term impacts when we have an alternative (stop burning fossil fuels) that we know will work and not cause additional unexpected problems, beyond of course not making very rich people and companies even richer.
