I was pretty sheltered/poor growing up so very rarely ate any kind of fast food, and most prepackaged snacks were a no, too. Except the tastycakes. I can confirm that today's butterscotch krimpets don't taste like I remember, but maybe that's bc I have access to more/better options now.
I worked at a coffee shop in high school that sold Orangina. I thought it was the fanciest drink I'd ever had in my life and drank so much of it in my time there.
Do you all remember Ground Round and making kids weigh themselves to pay by the pound? WTF was that?
That reminds me of how much I loved Fruitopia! I could get it in the college dining hall as part of my meal.
And the Ground Round was our go to place as a kid, so yes, this is what I remember too. Getting weighed before dinner! Definitely had a birthday party there. I thought it was super regional but apparently there were over 200 at one time, and it was one of the first casual dining chains (and the reason happy hours are banned in Massachusetts to this day?? Is that true??)
I remember growing up, we always ate our McNuggets with honey as the dipping sauce. Does anyone still do that? I wonder if McD's even offers it anymore.

This is how my husband ate them growing up and still eats them. Yes, they do still have honey dipping sauce!

I totally forgot about the honey! It was my go to and it was so good to dip fries in also!

Yes! The honey was the best. It was good for nuggets and fries.
I don't think it's been mentioned yet and I'm not sure how widespread or #regional it was, but Rax was like a roast beef chain (I think?) years ago. It was across the street from my elementary school (central FL) and I just remember they had chocolate chip milk shakes that were my absolute favorite thing.
OK soda. I am almost certain I never drank it but I loved the commercials and me and my sister were obsessed with them as kids but it always seemed like no one else remembers. I feel vindicated though because there was just a Slate podcast episode about it.
I remember OK soda! The commercials were awesome, I know I tried it once, but I can't remember if I liked it. It was only available briefly, apparently it was only released in a handful of test markets, which is probably why a lot of people aren't familiar.
We had OK Soda up here in the PNW! I loved it and got it regularly in high school at lunch.
I haven't gotten past page 2, but mine are:
Ecto Cooler juice boxes Count me as another one who misses the Double Decker Taco Supreme at Taco Bell The French Toast Sticks at Burger King Flintstones Push Pops Fruitopia drinks
I'm sure there are others that I will be liking/remembering as I read haha.
WWE ice cream from the ice cream truck. The cookie part was so good, and you were the cool kid on the block for a day if you got Hulk Hogan on your ice cream.
Maybe they still exist?
OMG I can still taste these but had forgotten they had existed until you said so. They were def. my favorite from the ice cream truck, and we frequented the ice cream truck a lot. I was also known to get a Flintstones push up pop or a minute maid freeze pop if they were out of those, but they were my #1. I always laughed at my friends who picked the clown face thing with the bubble gum ball nose because I knew they picked it because it looked so fun, but it tasted nasty and I was never tempted.
They still make these under the TGIFriday's label. They taste pretty much the same to me! I loved these too, and would get them from the vending machine at the Y with my dad on swim days.
Sometime in the 80/90's there was oatmeal that came with a packet of flavor, either like a fruit jelly or cinnamon sugar. You could pour it in or try and make the shapes they showed on the box or in the commercial. I remember LOVING this stuff, but always being mad I couldn't make an actual dinosaur or whatever shape.
I have a feeling if I ate it now it would be absolutely revolting and disgusting.
Also Bonkers candy and Tart and Tiny's (but the ones without the candy shell so they were chalky. (I liked the updated candy shelled ones too though)
I’m also convinced that the breadsticks at Olive Garden used to be really delicious, but the last time I went there (and the time before that lol), they just tasted like preservatives and freezer burn.
I concur with this statement. Whenever we get Olive Garden (not often!) I have noticed the same thing about the breadsticks! Now they just taste like disappointment.
Also concur, but that still doesn't stop me from eating my weight in them.
Does anyone remember a place called Ritzy's? I think they had a bunch of locations. I used to go there all the time to get the create your own salad- they had so many toppings to choose from and would toss it all up. I remember it being a good price for healthy food! They had burgers and shakes too.

Grape swedish fish. I used to get 50 red ones and 50 grape ones for $1, when I walked to the corner store to buy my aunt a pack of cigarettes. (She let me keep the change so I could get a treat).

Oooh I remember this! I can't remember whether my mom actually ever bought it for us but I always wanted it from the commercials!
I feel like my kids don't even see food commercials (or really any commercials) now since everything is streaming.

Seriously. My childhood was nothing but gum and cereal commercials I think. I can still recite way too many of them.

I loved The Ground Round, but was mortified the one or two times we got weighed to determine our dinner price because we had to wear a sticker with our weight. WTF dude?!
We never got the Handi snacks? cheese stick and processed cheese packs. I was kind of jealous.
Drank my weight in Echto Cooler Hi C even though I'm pretty sure it was just orange, lol.
Not sure if they still make them but I loved butterscotch Lifesavers.
We did a lot of microwave food including breakfast even though my mom stayed home. We would get these pancakes and eggs with a meat and I always called the "Pancake Sausage", lol.
Anyone remember the Pizza Hut commerical where the young man goes to the b-day party at PH in his bow tie? It was on the Land Before Time VHS and we loved watching that instead of fast forwarding.

I have never in my life seen Swedish Fish and it makes me sad! I love grape flavored things and Swedish Fish but never got to try the 2 together!

Oatmeal Swirlers. I think these are how I started eating enjoying oatmeal for breakfast, actually.
