I read: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, DNF (I didn't think this book would be for me and was correct, I couldn't get into it). No Exit by Taylor Adams, 3* (A little cheesy at times, but a quick read). Eventide by Kent Haruf, 4* (2nd book in the series. As it's own book it felt incomplete, but still good). I'm currently reading Signal Moon by Kate Quinn.
Qotw: The only times I've reread a book was when I reread books that I read as a child to my kids. I didn't really like reruns of books, tv, or movies.

Finished Bacchanal, which was okay, nothing special.
Still listening to Little Thieves, which I am really enjoying.
Started The Bone Houses which takes place in a world where the dead rise if buried in a forest, because of magic, but now they're not staying in the forest and a gravedigger and mapmaker journey to find out why. It's fine, but a little predictable.
QOTW: We’ve probably done this before, but that’s ok. Do you reread books? Why or why not? There are very few books I reread, the ones I do are ones I read with my kids (I read The Graveyard book for myself and with each of them), or as "comfort readings" (like Turn of the Screw just puts me in a certain moody kind of mood)[/b]

I just finished up The Only One Left by Riley Sager. I gave it three stars. It started out promising, but the number of twists just seemed over the top. I'm currently reading Shelf Life: Chronicles of a Cairo Bookseller. It's really interesting. I don't know much about Egypt, so I'm learning lot.
QOTW: I do not not reread books. I remember enough of books that when I reread them, I get bored and my thoughts wander. Edit - I guess I should qualify that. I've only read adult books once. I'm sure I read several books to my kids a million times each!
I am reading The Thursday Murder Club, which is fun, and Pride and Prejudice, because my kid is reading it for school. I know I’ve read it before but maybe not since I was in school.
QOTW: I enjoy rereading from time to time. I’m an English teacher so I have to revisit books year after year, but each time I find something new, which makes me want to reread other old favorites. Sometimes I will reread to get out of a book slump or when life is crazy and I need something that won’t disappoint me.
Knitting for Anarchists: The What, Why and How of Knitting by Anna Zilboorg
The Silent Dead by Claire McGowan (solid)
Telling Stories by Beverley Jones (oddly dated feeling)
A Savage Hunger by Claire McGowan (okay, bad title)
Tell Her Story by Margot Hunt (fun)
QOTW: not really! I re-read some Mary Downing Hahn childhood classics a few years ago but that’s not something I generally do. Too many new books to look backward!
I might listen to the Sue Grafton books though—I started reading them when I was a kid so it’s been a long time for the earlier ones and the library owns them all.
Reading Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI. Enraging and I am not even 50% done.
QOTW: I have too many books on my TBR. However, I want to reread Angela’s Ashes. It has been more than 20 years, and I always thought it was interesting that my late Dad and I had a much different experience and reaction reading the book in Spanish, than my Aunt, who read it in English.
I read: What Happened to Nina? By Derek’s McTiernan. I kind of felt icky reading it since it seems to capitalize on the Gabby Petito case, but it was really propulsive and different enough to be its own story.
James by Percival Everett. LOVED. May be my favorite book of the year.
Lore of the Wilds: A fantasy/romantasy about a human in a Fae-run society. It was in the adult section but felt more YA. It kept my attention and I enjoyed it.
No Road Home (comes out in summer): Man this was dark. Incest, transphobia, sexual abuse and rape, etc. If you’re good with all that, it might be worth picking up, but I feel like the jacket copy needs to give readers a better idea of what to expect.
QOTW: I almost never reread, but I think I’m going to try to reread three to five favorites every year. There are some books I’d like to revisit!
Mercy, Ian Maramaki - this was a kindle freebie somewhere along the way. It was fine. Mary Jane, Jessica Anya Blau - book club pick, was fun and a quick read for me, very satisfying ending. Before they Are Hanged - Joe Abercrombie - 2nd in a trilogy. I didn't love #1, but I'm glad I carried on because now I'm MUCH more invested. Usually 2nd books are a slog, but the 1st was slow to start. The Great Believers, Rebecca Makkai - heartbreaking and so vivid.
I am a major re-reader. I pretty much don't buy books to keep unless I plan to re-read them. Anything I declare a favorite I've probably read at least twice, if not dozens of times. I just like re-visiting people or a place that I really loved.
