noodleoo,I just drooled over that dress. Team keep it for your birthday. I don't think I'd ever have the courage to ask a neighbor or anyone (even co-worker) I don't know *that* well to borrow clothes.

Holy crap. I have had 3 kids, 2 of them were natural, and they were a cake walk compared to what I just went through at the Gynecologist office. I went in for my long periods and they had to do a biopsy...of my uterus. I cannot put in to words how much that hurt, I literally started to pass out. Tell me again why women can't get any sort of pain meds or anesthesia for Gynecological Procedures???
ETA: This google entry was clearly written by a man.
Is this weird? I went to a wedding over the weekend and splurged on a beautiful dress. I love it and I got so many compliments on it! I was talking to a neighbor friend yesterday and she mentioned that she's going to a wedding in July and sort of asked to borrow the dress (she saw pics on FB). I was taken off guard and then we got distracted by the kids so I never answered. I don't really want to lend out the dress, it was super expensive (more than I ever spend on myself) and while I currently don't have any plans to wear it again, I will if the opportunity comes up. Neighbor is super nice, but I'm not even sure we are the same size and we're not *that* close. I feel bad not wanting to lend it and I'm just hoping she never brings it up again.
L O L
What a nut. I have a neighbor like this. She asked to borrow my car when hers was in the shop so she could get to work. I was like but I'm using it to get to my work? And I don't know your last name?

There was terrible gun violence in my city yesterday against law enforcement offices. It is tragic. To add to my heartsick, I'm disgusted and discouraged by all the posts on social media that talk with their "soft on crime" crap and NOTHING ABOUT GUNS. We don't need more jails, we need fewer (no) guns.

That is awful. Did they not offer you anything?? I had a biopsy done on my cervix and I remember crying in so much pain. I can't even fathom my uterus.

Nope. Nada. And now I'm cramping so I did take some Advil, not even sure if I was supposed to, but eff that noise.

ugh, that sounds awful! I'm sorry! Can you take some Advil now and take the day off to rest?
I had to have a Colposcopy a few years ago for an abnormal pap and my gyn made it seem like no big deal. It was awful! I was not prepared for it at all and my gyn is usually pretty awesome. At least that was pretty fast.
gottadobe, I thought about sending her the link but it is almost sold out and I don't want to remind her about it! I'm really hoping it never comes up again.

I am so sorry! I had the same thing and it was so painful. I also had my uterus and cervix go nuts and the room looked like a crime scene because I started gushing blood.

Oh my gosh, that sounds like a nightmare! I'm so sorry that happened to you.
noodleoo, I am also obsessed with that dress! And I would never ask someone I'm not close to to borrow a dress, I vote weird.
lavenderblue, I am sorry that happened to you. I am always worried that some day I'm going to have to have a procedure (I've had a few abnormal paps) and that it will hurt really badly :/ It's bullshit that we're not offered anything for pain.

I'm so sorry lavenderblue,. I had that done a few years ago and it was awful. Thankfully one of the staff warned me it can be painful enough to cause you to pass out, so I had my DH drive me, but the only day they could do it he had a shift and had to take off work (of course!) Worst part was it took completely changing GYN practices to get someone to order the test/exam to rule out cancer because 2 GYN's at the first practice never thought that'd be an issue. Also agree we females should get more than "you might want to take a Tylenol before the test" for pain. Even the bleeding afterward give us something!
Anyway, hoping you get speedy, clear results and some kind of treatment asap.
I'm so sorry lavenderblue. I had a biopsy of a muscle and they put me all the way out in an OR. I can't imagine how awful that must have been. I hate how women's health stuff is so minimized in regards to pain.

I just got back from being a chaperone on DD’s class trip to the Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum. I’ve never been before and it was pretty cool! The bus ride home however, omg. So loud and bumpy!! We were back to the school by 12:15 so I let DD get dismissed and come home with me as a special treat.

DS and I saw a gator lounging by the lagoon on our walk yesterday, which is typical around here.
However, he referred to it as "a cute little guy" so I had to remind him that they're dangerous and not to make the pss pss pss sound you use to get the cats attention. This child 🤦🏼♀️

That sounds so fun! We haven't been to that museum but we've seen them reenact throwing tea overboard from the nearby bridge. It looks cool! I wish our elementary school did fun field trips. My neighbor (different one LOL) is a teacher at my kids school and apparently the principal hates field trips and got rid of most of them the last few years.
Did I miss an update on the house offers? I hope it worked out the way you wanted it to!
We had what I just found out was a gang-related shooting incident right behind my house Sunday evening. We saw all the cop cars on our cul de sac and I knew some of the roads were blocked, but never expected it to be gang related. Logically, I know things can happen anywhere, but we’re in a pretty rural area. It’s shaken me up a bit.
lavenderblue, I had a similar experience when I had my IUD replaced. I remember screaming in pain and then getting very dizzy. And my (male) GYN told me to just "take a couple ibuprofen" before the procedure.

I could get her asking where you got the dress maybe, but I don't ask to borrow anything unless someone is overtly offering, and clothes can so easily get ruined accidentally (maybe I'm just extra accident prone, but still). I don't lend stuff out at all unless I'm ok with not getting it back in general, so I def. would not in your case.
I decided to check in on the last page of the "Do you remember foods" thread because, surely it can't still be on topic after 7 pages. Why yes, yes it is.
Today while I was cleaning the toilet I accidentally sprayed myself in the face with the bidet. Then, while I was walking the dog he was having trouble pushing out his poop bc he ate god knows what so I had to pull shit right out of his asshole. So that’s how my day is going.
Whew, I just took my dog to the vet, and saw a different guy than I'd seen before. He talked faster than anyone I've ever met, I think. He also hates Blue Buffalo pretty passionately and when I said that I had been feeding him that but recently switched, I got a very wordy speech on how horrible of a food it is. He also likes the brands I was told many years ago weren't as good (like Iams and Purina) so basically I feel like dog food is a scam like everything else. He did say the Merrick food I switched to is good so maybe there is some agreement on that one?
I left basically assuming my dog is fine but not super looking forward to seeing him again. He wasn't mean or anything, just exhausting to speak with and definitely a bit of a mansplainer.
Also paid $110 to basically hear "give the new food more time". So yay for that?

tacokick, I may have missed an update, but I've been thinking of you and your family. Hope things are getting a little better.
fluffycookie, I should probably start a new thread for the Karen Read trial. Why are they ending so early, then taking a day off, then going back for another half day?! That's a good chunk of time for a case they say may take 7 - 8 weeks. Ugh those poor jurors, and the families etc. How does that even work with work too, can/do you go back the days court isn't in session? I'm glad for the jury they're not sequestered since it's going on so long, but gooood luck making sure everyone is really staying away from the media in between.

Thank you! There hasn’t been much to report, he’s still in the ICU but improving. Today they all seem much more optimistic and saying things like “getting him back to on his feet” vs taking it day by day. It is still a mystery what happened; it seems like his regular cardiologist might have made a mistake with his medication 😬
