Today my 3 lb. 4 oz baby turns 19! How did that happen?? I am not old enough to have a kid that old! Ds and I are going to college town to have dinner with her, my mom, and xmil as long as the weather holds out. H has a meeting so he can't go.
Our weekend is jam packed so the only thing I'm really working on is spring cleaning laundry in the cabins. I've been doing a cabin a week and only have 2 left to do. We started remodeling a cabin too so I'll probably have to help H with some of that.
We were out past midnight last night for our concert. It was great, but I'm so sleepy today. I wish it was a WFH day! I'm not sure how I'm going to manage another one on Friday. If we can even go, all of our childcare plans are falling through, and our current plan is tentative.
I'm cosupervising two technicians this year. I never could have anticipated how much time it would take. I need to call one of them and send an email to both today (not my first) and I'm putting it off. Hopefully the longer they're here the less effort they will take.
I'm definitely not ready for it to be May. Everything is so busy, and we leave for vacation in two weeks and I'm completely unprepared. DD1 and I are tagging along on a work trip for H. Last night MIL cornered H and was like "look! There's a timeshare 30 minutes away, we could do a joint trip!" 1. They always talk about group trips but have literally never pulled the trigger. And this is two weeks away 2. H is there for a conference and will be busy the entire time...? 3. We have a room at a resort. That work is paying for. Why would we come stay with you 30 minutes away?
There's a mocking bird outside singing a perfect rendition of a cobra car alarm, something I haven't heard in a long time. These birds are pretty amazing!
It's almost 1pm and I haven't been able to make myself get started on work. I just realized I forgot to take the med I'm supposed to take at 10am. Well there's the problem. I have now set yet another alarm in my phone to take the damn meds.
Am I the only person who doesn't have some cutesy nickname and a bunch of emoji's for my significant other in their phone? When did this become a thing? #getoffmylawn
Like, who else even sees what you name people? Are you sharing your phone a lot?
DH is only Name-Hubs because I also have his parents in there as Name Mom and Name Dad and my car is stupid and can't figure out who I want to call if I use voice controls.
My husband is in there under his full name with (husband) after it.

Like. The total opposite of cutesy.
Me too, and people are always making fun of it, I'm like it's in case I lose it or, or, etc
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
Not only are we dealing with duel father declining health issues but that grill is still a drama. It was missing a piece that was supposed to arrive pre attached to the grill which we didn’t notice right away because it obviously wasn’t included in the assembly instructions (or pictured in the manual at all) and it requires some screws.
Weber has twice mailed us the wrong screws and the major part they attach to is back ordered. I’m worried they are going to send us the wrong part for that too.
I’m not sure what to do, it’s mostly put together and too big for our car to easily return (and very heavy) and we are creeping up on the time when we could return it. We are getting conflicting responses from Home Depot about returning it partially assembled but there are parts we really can’t remove because they snap together. I really don’t want to have to pay to rent a truck to return it.
Weber customer service is pleasant and keeps saying they will take care of it and to not return it but keep sending us the wrong screws despite being super clear about what we are missing.
I am so sorry we bought this thing! And now the Ace near us is offering delivery with assembly which they did not when we ordered the grill. Surely they would have noticed something was missing and handled it for us!
Would it be weird to ask Home Depot to rent their truck for free to return their product? It’s been a while but I’ve rented the Home Depot flat bed for an hour and the service desk had all the official paperwork (to be legit) but really struck me as a bit fast & loose with how long and how much. I can’t imagine that it would be impossible to have a manger waive the fee.

Had a pretty chill day of walking through the Borough Market and the Tate Modern. Rested our legs in the hotel for a bit, now dinner at Nando’s and then we’re going to see Wicked! I got slightly discounted tickets from TKTS, but they’re still 1/2 the price of what it would be to see it on tour in Dallas. Crazy.
I switched my WFH day to today because kid had early release from school today so the rest of my week is going to be messed up because I will think it's closer to Friday.
We FINALLY have a dishwasher again!! It's been like a month. We thought it was an issue with the dishwasher and since it's still under warranty they sent a repair person and then that person needed to order a part, then the part was on back order, then it turned out the part was wrong so we finally after the back and forth for 3 weeks decided to just return the dishwasher and get a replacement which thankfully we didn't have to pay anything for. H installed it this weekend only to discover it actually wasn't a dishwasher issue because even the new one wasn't getting water. So had a plumber come out this morning and it turned out to be an issue with the water valve. So it could have been resolved much quicker than it was but at least it's done now. We really thought it was the dishwasher because it was the error code displaying that let us know something was wrong. But whatever, $375 later I now am done hand washing dishes!!
I made a cake for church dinner tonight because I've been wanting yellow cake with chocolate frosting and dang I want a piece now but think it would look tacky to roll in with a gap in the cake LOL
I made a dinner reservation for my H’s birthday at a nice restaurant in the city. It’s on his birthday at a great time for dinner. I am feeling very organized and accomplished.
I invited his brother & SIL who are fabulous people and great company for this stuff. They said yes to being included for the reservation. Again, great people except they are super flaky about being on time or showing up. Nothing I can do about it, except it dampens my enthusiasm for our plans for a night out. I’m also second guessing if the restaurant is too pricey. It’s not and I should stop worrying about it.

That’s a really good idea!! I’m going to call and see if that is possible. Thanks!!
Tonight is the senior night celebration for our baseball team. I planned everything and I hope it turns out really nice for them. This team is really special and I am going to miss these boys and their families so much.

I just have his full name and under company I put husband, so if there’s an accident/emergency people can figure out who to call quickly.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

For everyone saying they have their husband in there with husband for an emergency situation make sure you are listing them as emergency contacts in your medical ids (for those with iPhones). They can be accessed without even needing to unlock your phone and leaves no question as to who should be called.
I'm in Boston for a very short work trip. In my time negotiating from the airport to the hotel, two different people gave me directions to different locations using different Dunkin' Donuts stores as reference points.
Way to be your true self, Beantown.
Were they correct directions though?? It's been cold and rainy and we are all pretty miserable

I had to check what I call him, lol. My husband is listed under his last name (I didn't change my name when we got married). When I met my husband he was under "first name 2" because I knew like 4 other people with the same first name. He was mad so eventually I changed to his first name, and then his last name because a lot of people call him that or a nickname of his last name. I haven't heard of the cutesy stuff, but yeah no desire to do that.
I had my hair cut last night and felt very #getoffmylawn talking about "young" people...to someone who wasn't styling hair yet in 2020. Apparently the youngsters are doing a lot of the 90's hair cuts but they're calling them new names like "wolf cut", "butterfly cut". Stylist said she has to have them show her a picture because she has no idea what they're talking about, lol.
Only downside is I asked for a clavicle cut angle around my face that I thought all stylists knew, but she didn't do that. My hair still looks nice, but not what I wanted. She also threw my part way over to the side without asking if that's where I part it. I didn't notice until everything was blow dried. Now I wonder if she thinks I'm an #oldz and part my hair cira when the teenagers were super against parting their hair.

Now I want to know what a clavicle cut angle is.
In my head I was picturing a long inverted bob, but it social media has told me anything about hair, it's that I have no idea what I'm talking about LOL

In my 20s, I had a male roommate. He started dating someone with my name. He also worked with someone with my name. One day he said, "I need to come up with a system to keep you guys straight! I will call you Jinkies 1, girlfriend Jinkies 2...."
I was like "Imma stop you right there. If you would like to continue the relationship, I highly recommend that you make your girlfriend Jinkies 1 in this scenario" LOL.

I have 100% done this, highly recommend. What if you don’t get a piece later??
I really don't understand putting people in your contacts by first name only... and then potentially adding a digit when you know more than one Chris. If only people had another part to their name to make them more distinct....
