My H came home yesterday from work quite down. He had gotten his review and it wasn't good as he hadn't achieved his targets - some of this was out of his control, so he's going to fight some of the report but he recognises that some of it was him dropping the ball because he just wasn't happy in the job with all the changes going on (a new jerk has come in and taken over power). He did not sleep well last night and is now grumpy, which is so much fun. I'm glad I'm at the office today. It also impacts his bonus, which impacts what work we'll be able to do on the house this year. Boo.
I tried to get Savannah Bananas tickets this morning through my college alumni association. They had a block that went on sale at 7 am. I was logged in, had my payment information saved, and was refreshing the page at 7 am. I still missed out. I guess because I took an extra couple seconds to think about whether I should get extra tickets for friends.
I'm still in the main ticket lottery, which probably won't go on sale till July. But after this morning, I'm not holding my breath. Crazy!
DH has this not great habit of thinking he's communicated something to me, when in reality, that is not what I'm tracking.
Last FALL he said he had gotten the name of a handyman our neighbors use for painting, etc. I said great, call and get a quote for some exterior painting he wanted done.
I called 2 places this week for interior painting because for 2 years the man has said we need to have the builder paint redone, which I agree, but we also put in a pool and had some other priorities and painting is $$$$.
Today a guy is coming for an estimate and DH starts asking about exterior and the porch and I said "no, this is for INSIDE. I told you last fall to call the guy the neighbors use." Then he gets all huffy.
We have no upstairs HVAC. I am leaving on Sunday for another work trip. Do not put this on me. Plus I don't think this guy even does exterior painting.

I still haven't heard anything about our local game, which I think is August?

Our local game was August last year and the tickets sale was June.

We had our lottery for tickets for their May dates here back in Feb maybe and no one I know was able to even get into the lottery. It's nuts! My husband's employer has a suite at our minor league ball park (where the Bananas would be playing) and they have the option to pay to rent the suite for one of the two SB games, so my husband told their HR person that we'd go in on that...we have to see if she's able to get enough interested people for it, but right now that's our only hope.

I wasn't chosen for the lottery last year either. This year they are actually playing our MLB stadium instead of the minor league one, so I was hoping we might have a better chance. Based on my experience this morning though, maybe not!
I don't know how much the work suite costs, but I'd definitely try for that! The tickets are so hard to get, it seems like you should easily be able to get people to buy in!
I pulled the dog over to snuggle with me this morning and she burrowed herself under the covers and is snoozing with her head on my leg. So that’s how getting up is going this morning.
Also I forgot until just now that the kids have dental appointments this morning and then DS2 has some parent event. I should really get moving so I can check email at least before all of that.
I am so ready for the weekend, but it’s going to be a super busy one. Three more weeks to go until DS2 is done with soccer. I cannot wait! Our weeks are so much less hectic when he gets done. Looking at those upcoming light weeks on the family calendar is motivating me to push through this.
I’m feeling very jittery this morning and not sure why. I can’t focus for shit.
I’m requesting a reasonable accommodation of full time telework. My boss is supportive, but I’m anxious about my dr’s appointment about it on Friday. I need good documentation for him to approve it.
Not only are we dealing with duel father declining health issues but that grill is still a drama. It was missing a piece that was supposed to arrive pre attached to the grill which we didn’t notice right away because it obviously wasn’t included in the assembly instructions (or pictured in the manual at all) and it requires some screws.
Weber has twice mailed us the wrong screws and the major part they attach to is back ordered. I’m worried they are going to send us the wrong part for that too.
I’m not sure what to do, it’s mostly put together and too big for our car to easily return (and very heavy) and we are creeping up on the time when we could return it. We are getting conflicting responses from Home Depot about returning it partially assembled but there are parts we really can’t remove because they snap together. I really don’t want to have to pay to rent a truck to return it.
Weber customer service is pleasant and keeps saying they will take care of it and to not return it but keep sending us the wrong screws despite being super clear about what we are missing.
I am so sorry we bought this thing! And now the Ace near us is offering delivery with assembly which they did not when we ordered the grill. Surely they would have noticed something was missing and handled it for us!
My car is 9 years old, 98,000 miles, and I have developed deep resentment toward it. And you know, it’s hard to get over deep resentment in a relationship. So I’m browsing for new cars.
Sources of my resentment: 1. No car play. And no upgrade to the display screen to get it available. 2. It’s just a bit too small to carry my fencing equipment in the trunk. So it takes up the backseat. Always. 3. I had some issues with the tps sensor in the tires that turned into a 3 month and 4 new tire ordeal. 4. Now it has a rattle in the exhaust system. I hope it’s just a loose bolt, but since it’s a hybrid, it’s too low to the ground, so the gear head at work couldn’t get under it to check it. I dropped it off at a new to me repair shop this morning. 😬
None of this is new car worthy. But, we are at the point where everything it does pisses me off. Like even just existing. And, I’ve discovered that dark green (the one I’d call British sports racing green) is coming back. I kind of want to car shop old school method - show up on a lot and browse. I feel like that’s not a think anymore.
rubytue, dark/olive green cars are definitely "in" right now. I'm kind of annoyed that's what my new car is. I thought it was unusual when I ordered it last August, but they're fucking everywhere. I can't drive anywhere without seeing at least 2 other Subarus in the exact same color as mine - never mind the other brands offering similar colors.
Have you considered an aftermarket radio to get Car Play? That's what I did in my last car to get Android Auto. It's not cheap, but it's way cheaper than a new car!

I had a really hard time falling asleep last night. I was sure that my long periods are related to perimenopause, but now that the doctor has biopsied my uterus, I'm in an anxiety spiral. I ended up having to take something around midnight otherwise I probably wouldn't have slept at all.

I'm not sleepy, but I'm tired, that deep in your bones kind of tired. I'm off school for 3 weeks, but my mom is visiting this weekend and FI leaves next week. I leave for my study abroad in Costa Rica in 2 1/2 weeks, but there's 2 beach days at the end of the trip. I'm just hanging on for those beach days and hopefully refreshing my soul during that time before I come back and start school again.

our local game is early July and I just got an email this week outlining how the ticket lottery/sales will go. Everyone who entered will get an email by Friday letting you know if you were selected or not. Then if you are selected, another email Monday with instructions for purchasing. Fingers crossed.

(hugs) The waiting is always the hardest. I'm praying for you that you get great results.
Does anyone have a great rec for a bean bag chair or something similar? We want to create a hang out spot in our unfinished basement for the kids but I am just envisioning styrofoam balls everywhere.
We don't have anywhere to be tonight, I am so looking forward to sitting on the couch! But this also means I need to cook dinner.

We've had two of these for almost 10 years now. They still look great.
C's First Communion is this weekend. She's so excited and so am I. But I'm nervous because the party after will be the first time I have seen XH's extended family since we split. They all unfriended me on Facebook and stopped speaking to me as soon as we split. I just hope it's not awkward. I'm also a little annoyed because I feel like XH and I get along well and have no issues being in the same place. But his father, brother and aunt are going to pretend I don't exist? I wish they would grow up. And on the petty side, I plan on looking damn good at this thing lol.
Any local GBCNers available to come to Stoneham Saturday for moral support??

I don't know how much tickets are normally but I saw some in other cities selling for $300+ each on Ticketmaster which blows my mind! Thankfully if his work can get enough people to commit the cost for us would be less than that. We haven't said anything about the possibility to kid #1 so he doesn't get his hopes up, so if we're able to do this it'll be a nice surprise
tacokick, even though it would be a huge pain I'd return and get it from ACE. I'd worry about ongoing issues. I'd rather have someone else assemble that knows better what to do and can more easily identify assembly issues and what is missing.
