Dear sales colleagues, Remember how we made an entire new process where you would actually review the RFPs to make sure we're qualified to provide the services before my team works on the RFP responses? That was a huge point of contention that I had with taking on this project since we've been historically screwed in the past and wasted a lot of time on things we aren't qualified for. This week we're 2 for 2 with proposals that we've worked on and then I've found a red flag in the language that says we're not qualified. I've wasted 2 full days of work for 2 employees (myself included, so not cheap labor!) and then we just yank it at the last minute. This is BS. How the heck do we figure this out?! Reading comprehension is a base line skill that you all should have! Signed, Super Frustrated
You have not been cut or colored since before Christmas. But congratulations! Today is your day!
Signed, Excited
Dear Son,
You were so funny yesterday. I’m glad you had a good birthday. When I was putting you to bed, and saying how I can’t believe you’re already 10, you answered “Yeah, I can’t believe it’s been ten years since you pumped out a kid.” And I almost peed myself.
Thank you for being unabashedly yourself. Mom
Dear Little Girl in DS’s Class,
The note you wrote him for his birthday saying you all care about him and how much joy he brings to the class even though he’s been there such a short time made my heart so happy.
Thank you! Mom of Admittedly a Weird but Funny Kid
You have a work lunch with a big boss today. Go get em! He's a garbage human so ask for what you were verbally promised in December and if he won't give you a firm date in writing drop off all your wfh equipment (that you brought with you) and sashay out in style.
Yay you are home for the summer! I will be happy to pick up random glasses all over the house and wonder what exploded in your room for at least a couple weeks because thar means a kid lives here.
Signed mom.
Dear agency,
I hate to quote the book Good to Great, but if there are people allowed to run amuk and do sometimes less than bare minimum, then that brings everyone down. Either good employees leave or they dial back after a while realizing that hard work doesn't really matter.
No one likes shots. And you needed 3 vaccines at your appointment yesterday. But 30 minutes of screaming and writhing is... a lot. You're squirmy and you're strong. And you wore me out. But hopefully now you won't get diphtheria, so I'm calling it a win. And I guess my working out more has paid off, because I was able to wrangle your 95lb self all alone.
Love, Mommy who is not looking forward to the upcoming blood draw for your lipid panel

Dear WPs,
Please help Beau and I settle a debate. DS is in a highly capable program and is headed to a MLB game today. There are roughly 15-20 kids going from this program from 3 grades at his school (probably 500 kids at the school). Should this be an all school event where every kid should be able to go, or is it fair to only send the kids from this program?
Signed, Of course I think my opinion is correct and Beau is wrong
Dear self, Congrats on hitting your goal of benching 200 pounds. That's a huge personal accomplishment at the gym. But quit stressing about your work trip next week. Everything is going to go smoothly as it always does. Signed, Focus on the wins in life
supertrooper1 , gifted program? Are they tying the baseball into anything that they are learning? I'm inclined to say that I like the model where the grade goes to a minor league game and more can go as opposed to just one group going to the baseball game.
But, also, I have other things going on so if this teacher wants to take their program somewhere then go ahead. It might be similar to older kids taking Spanish going on a Spanish Class field trip.
This doesn’t sound like an educational field trip to support specific class needs/goals. Is it something they earned? The only non-grade wide field trips our schools do are either specific to the course (dance performance for students of dance for example) or achievement based open to all to try and achieve (battle of the books, a statewide reading challenge thing). My daughter is in an accelerated program but they go on the same field trips as the rest of the grade so I’m team “I’d give this mild side eye” at this time.

dear BFF,
Thanks for agreeing to help me drive my kids to camp this summer when H had to bail. We’ll make it the best road trip and get the most out of all those hotel points I racked up last year.

waverly, librarychica, I should have added that it's weather education day before the game. The local tv weather people do a science based weather presentation.
supertrooper1, with the added update I don't see a real problem with it. Also can you imagine taking 60+ 3rd graders into Seattle to watch a 4 hour ball game. Sometimes I think TAG kids get the short end of the stick. They are expected to do extra work and don't really get any rewards or perks. In elementary DD asked the title reading teacher how many reading tests she had to bomb to get into title as the title kids were always getting parties while she was stuck in class reading boring books.
Dear Weather I can handle the spring showers, the spring gray days, and the 50-60 degree weather but could maybe the wind go away. That wind is cold and makes being outside when the sun is out miserable because it feels like 40. Signed I want to go outside and not have to be in winter gear
supertrooper1, how is the game itself tied to the weather presentation? Or anything else they're learning?
My 18 year old nephew is in a special day program program for students with moderate needs. This class - all mild to moderate special needs students - got to attend a minor league game after touring the stadium and learning about food services and grounds keeping. This was part of their hospitality class.
Was it something like this?
I'd lean towards all students being able to go to the game, or perhaps opening it to a specific grade level annually, if it was more for fun.

dglvrk2 , nothing tied the game and the weather presentation together. The tv station has been putting this on for years. Ex-H is the new program director and I have a feeling he saw this as an opportunity to see a game for free.
186momx, I couldn't imagine trying to organize the whole school or just a grade. Super expensive with a 2 hour bus ride each way.

That’s why our school does the minor league 20 minutes away but if you all are more rural there aren’t any minor leagues around.
Dear Payroll Clients I reminded you in writing of our hours and that we are closed on Fridays. I also asked that you have work that you need done same day to me by 10am. This is so I have plenty of time to do it. Why am I sitting refreshing my email? I should be slammed with payrolls. I guess all of you will be getting the 5ths payroll on the 6th. Frustrated and tired of babysitting/bending over backwards for your lack of planning. Me
Dear Science teacher First this year long science project was district wide. DD asked her friends who go to the other middle schools and they had no idea what she was talking about. DD called you out on it and was told that the other 7th grade science teachers decided not to do it this year and it is only her school participating. Then the showing was no students allowed and it was due XYZ. Now students need to attend and be there for judging awards and the date of the showing we already have commitments. I will be so stinking happy when the school year is over and this damn project is done. 7th grade parent PS I was really looking forward to DD turning wine into jelly spheres and am bummed the school said no. We have to do the project at home so why not use wine as a test substance and report the data without bringing in the wine spheres?
