I tripped and fell, and I destroyed beyond redemption my phone despite its really good case. That makes me lose all internet. What a fun time. I'm here on a borrowed phone that gives me access so that I can track down a replacement. Try finding a friend with an extra phone when your only phone doesn't work!
Anyone who says internet today is not a requisite utility has never lived without it. This is a gop position, btw.
It's not the same as DQ, but don't forget about SoftStuff on 40 and Cindy's in Elkridge. Neither are as expensive as the Charmery, and they're locally owned.
Also not DQ, but the Meadows Frozen Custard is SO GOOD! It's in the Hickory Ridge Village Center
I dropped a box on my thumb and my nail broke weirdly on each side. It's at a weird angle so I can't cut it down, but it hurts!
Get nail glue! DS's thumb nail split in the fall and we bought glue so that it didn't rip further. We applied it a couple times a day I think and then trimmed the nail as it grew out.
I was in the woods alone surveying for butterflies today, and definitely had a higher than normal expectation that I would run into a strange man or bear š¤£
Welp. My newly diagnosed asthma sent me to the ER after a call to 911 last night. My kids were rockstars but I know I freaked them out. After a few breathing treatments, steroids and other medication, I got home around 2:30am. I did get a good nights sleep and feel better today. Going to pick up my haul of prescriptions in a bit.
One lesson learned last night, if you think someone may need to get a hold of you in the middle of the night, donāt silence your phone. If you have an Apple phone, you can set up āFocusā which allows only certain calls through.

Never heard of it but OH MAN am I going to take the kids. It's right down the road from where I buy my birdseed! Thanks! My favorite ice cream place is my former place of employment and I refuse to go there because the owner is batshit (traditional ice cream, not soft serve).

My kid got an invite to a birthday party on Tuesday. Party is happening on Saturday. Invite was just hand written on a regular card, bounce house and pizza at their house so seems low key. I texted the parent asking if siblings could come and they said yes. THEN my kid comes home saying she has to give the card back to another kid because they just let her borrow it. So now I'm not sure if my kid was ever invited, and am feeling extra ballsy that I asked about a sibling to a party my kid may not have even been invited to š. Idk what's worse to text now and see if my kid (and sibling now) are actually invited or just show up.
So awkward!Ā Did they get it from school?Ā Our school has a policy that if the invitations were handed out at school all the kids have to get them.Ā So maybe your kid was invited?Ā Ā
She did get it at school, but they don't have that policy. And usually I feel like she's pretty decent at relaying a story but I could not figure out how the handing out the invites went down other then that the birthday kid handed them out and not everyone in the class got one. We're just going to go. It's a kid who I always hear is in trouble and I don't think he has a ton of friends. And I already bought a gift lol.
Just a couple of updates over here... DS had an AMAZING baseball game tonight. He hustled, tried hard, didn't mope at all, ran everywhere, and had a couple of hits and scored one run (this I don't care about as much as I care that he acts like a team player, but icing on the cake!)
I also have a therapy appointment on May 16. I couldn't really get in earlier because next week I'm traveling for work and my schedule's a little variable but I'll survive 2 weeks and probably have more material by then lol.

Bring cash-- they don't accept cards. I've been going there since I was a child. It used to be at the end of a motel on that land. Folks would wait in the line and then stand around and eat their cones or sit at the picnic table there. I have such fond memories of going there growing up. They razed the motel and built up that whole shopping center. The EC Diner there used to be the Double T Diner which used to be the Forest Diner. So there has been a diner in that spot for decades.
And MDmomof2, has another great suggestion. Meadows has great frozen custard. Another locally owned business. I think the guy who owned it sold it to his sister recently.
