Dear doctors,
Can we please figure out what's wrong with DD2? This is getting really scary and stressful. According to the ER notes, she's got elevated white blood cell count, traces of blood in her urine but everything is negative. And then last night the pedi found that she suddenly now has crazy swollen tonsils and what looks like raging strep throat but the strep test was negative. She's lost two pounds in the past few days because she isn't eating. And the fever is still going... I hope the new bloodwork today shows something we can act on.

Dear regional little league,
Part of my fee went towards paying for an app subscription. Unlike most sports team apps, this one - me taking a deep breath and sip of coffee - works. IF YOU USE IT. DD1 's team uses it. All info, including cancellations, field changes, games, practices is on it. DD2 's team doesn't use it much. Ganes are posted, but all other info is on a text string, where the important stuff gets lost in the countless replies. Hence, this momma arranged and then rearranged her schedule last night to take both DDs to practices, only to find out DD2 did not have a practice.
I cannot believe I - the gen xer who usually prefers sticky notes to her phone - is saying this, but could everyone use the app???

Remember sleep? Sleep is good; we like it. Insomnia sucks. I've been taking forever to go to sleep and waking at 5am for days now. This morning kid woke at 3am... so I was awake for the day at 3am. I finally got up for coffee at 6:15am and the kid asked me if he could get up. No kid. Go the f back to sleep! You were awake at 3am. Work with me here.

Having an event to show off the work from your new hobby on mother's day is kind of odd. People have things to do. I realize you don't have a concept of anything that's not about you. Also I'm not really jazzed about stopping by in the middle of the day. Dd and Dh would like to do some things for ME. And I have a MIL that deserves some attention.

Can they treat for strep even though she tested negative based on the visual?  I mean, I feel like "do something doctors".  Sometimes they are so hesitant to prescribe antibiotics.

twinmomma, that is miserable. When DS had his issues, I felt like every test they ran showed something new and it was really frustrating. Hopefully she's on the mend soon.

waverly, They did start treating with augmentin last night to see if that knocks out the throat infection. But she didn't have that until yesterday! So it makes no sense, there was no sign of it in the ER or at her visit last week.

What part of Mexico? We leave in a week and a half and looking for reliable beach and water reports.

rere, we were in Puerto Vallarta. The water was warmish (coming from a CA girl, definitely not Florida warm!) but the waves were pretty aggressive, so it was mostly just putting feet in the water. Temp was perfect - warm enough to want to be in the pool or water, comfortable to lay in the sun and walk on the beach without being uncomfortable on burning your feet.

I'm sorry I'm making you go to school the next two days instead of attending seminar with me, but you really don't need to go, and school gets really upset when I tell them you are attending a different school for the day. mommyatty - I have no plans to do that. I’m staying on until the Friday before Memorial Day weekend, but will work pretty sporadically until then.

They did ask me if they could call me if they had a question, and of course bill them for my time. I agreed, but I doubt it will ever happen.
