Weekend was pretty awesome. We did a big clean out of both kids’ rooms. DH did DS’s, so it still needs some clean out work. DD wants to get rid if her dresser (it’s falling apart after almost 12 years), so we did a huge thinning of her clothes and put all the clothes from the dresser in hanging clothes organizers. All her undies and small things are on shelves in clear tubs that are like tall shoeboxes. It was a lot of work but she’s really happy with it. And she worked along side me and independently, so I’m really proud of her for that.
My kids have decided they have a goal to swim every day of vacation that the weather cooperates. They’ve gone 5 days in a row so far. And we have been working jigsaw puzzles. So although there’s still far too much screen time, they are doing some non-screen things.
ETA- we woke up to tornado sirens and insane storms this morning. Kids have doctors appointments this morning, so this is going to be less than awesome. At least we still have power. It’s out to more than half a million people right now.
We had a very busy weekend - lots of fun though! DD2 played her last town travel game, and they actually won! Their only win of the season! DD2 played well, and had a great time!
DD2 and I left from there to drive to our beach house, and we got there at about 9pm. DD1 left the game a bit early to grab DD1 and the dog and got there about 20 mins before us.
We completely lucked out with the weather all weekend! Saturday DD2 played at 9am about 20 mins from our house, so I took her while DH got our yard and pool ready for people to come over. Then I left and DH went to the field, and I picked up food and prepped for folks to come over after the 11:20 game. They won both games - which was shocking! We had a few families over until later in the afternoon, when they took off to go to a massive multi-team pool party at a hotel where about 1/2 of the team was staying. DD2 had a complete meltdown so we didn't end up going. She was wiped out. So the kids just swam in our pool and we all hung out.
Sunday the games were later, but our friends that only booked one night in a hotel had to check out at 10, so they came over for a walk, hanging out, and leftovers for lunch. We came back in between games because we had more friends that were playing right next to our house, their DD (DD2's good friend) was in a wheelchair after a terrible leg break, so she hung out with DD1 while her brother played. Raced back for the semifinals, crushing loss by an amazing team. DD2 was sobbing at the end of the game - just tons of emotions and sad to see both seasons end.
We ended up coming home early yesterday. The weather wasn't great, and the traffic can be really bad. It's typically a 90 mins ride for us, about 1h20 mins from where most of our friends stayed. People that stayed until early afternoon said it took close to 3 hours to get back, so I'm glad we left when we did.
This week will be busy again, but not insane. DD2 is all done with soccer for the season, but DD1 has 3 softball games due to some rain outs. DD2 should hear if she made her club team today or tomorrow, so I have all kinds of anxiety around that. My sister is visiting with her kids, so I'd like to get to see them at some point. The school year is winding down, so I'm sure things will come up here and there. Should be great weather, so I'm ready for that!
We are back from Cancun! Except for Dh having some stomach problems, one afternoon, it was a great trip. Yesterday was low key resting.
Dd go into nursing school! It's great, but she has a list of things that need to be done and if you ask her any questions, she snaps. I had to tell Dh just to avoid her last night.
Dss car engine pretty much blew, so he has to buy an entire new one. We are going to have to float him a $10,000 loan. I'm arguing with Dh about selling and extra old truck we have and just giving the proceeds to Ds. I'm tired of paying insurance on it anyway.
My mom is driving me nuts. She's working on a project and is obsessed. Many texts and calls a day. No questions about how was your trip, yay dd and nursing school, how's the grandchild serving his country, just me, me, me. I'm about to block her.
In other news, they put new carpet in my office while I was gone, so I'm spending today getting everything back together.
I can't believe Friday/my birthday was only a few days ago - it seems like a really long time ago! Everyone I know who doesn't have very small children was like "ugh, the long weekend is ending" yesterday - while I was pretty excited to send my little boys (specifically DS2) back to school today, even if it meant I also have to go to work. Work is comparatively relaxing most of the time
DD got hit with a softball really hard in her thumb while playing catcher on Sunday morning and it doesn't look good. We're heading to the doctor this afternoon to see what they say, and hopefully will get an xray. I hope this doesn't end her all-star softball season. Her team won their tournament again this weekend - which we pretty much knew they would, since our league was hosting the tournament and they were in too easy of a bracket. At least she got to play in the first 3 of the 5 games.
Yesterday I rented a cabana at a local resort and took the kids to the pool with waterslides, and had some friends meet us. It was fun but very "May gray" like it often is for Memorial Day weekend here. I was glad to get home by 4 pm and get things ready for the week.

The weekend was pretty good. We didn't do a lot because it was raining. We did have dinner with my parents and went to Beau's son's house to see their kids. I was able to go through DS's clothes and get rid of the ones he's outgrown. Our office/spare room was getting out of control and we got that cleaned up too.
I started the day on a Teams supervisor meeting to take notes for my OOO supervisor and didn't know I had to be on camera. I pretty much roll out of bed and log into work every day, and today was no exception. I hadn't even brushed my hair today and was able to show only from the shoulders up to hide that I wasn't wearing a bra.
I forgot to add that DD1 is now the official team babysitter for younger siblings that were melting down at the fields. She watched kids at our house and earned a tidy sum. She had the best time!
DH was home for 4 days and we didn't go anywhere. It was a very long weekend. I was so happy that he went and played golf Monday.
DD has her science project board about 98% finished. I actually grounded her from TV and books as she was dragging her feet to do it. She isn't a crafty type person so the board decorating was very overwhelming to her. It turned out amazing but took her almost 16 hours to do. She layered all her data out onto circles. She spent so much time cutting and gluing circles.
I replanted my garden as the squirrels/crows pulled/ate up all my seeds/starts.
We spent a lot of the weekend gardening. The garden had been neglected the last 2 years due to DH's attention on the now sold lake house.
I needed his muscles to dig out grasses that had died, daylillies that were spreading that the previous owners had planted and a ground cover that DH planted. I'm not sure why DH planted a ground cover in the flower garden. He had dirt and mulch delivered because I would rather spread mulch than weed flower beds. But we still had to do some weeding. He still has to put down some grass seed, and fill a couple more pots. That was most of our Saturday and Monday. Sunday it rained, and we went to see the movie Fall Guy which was cute.
My weekend was pretty mellow. Friday night, H, DD1 and I went to Furiosa, which was great! DD2 slept at a friend's house. Saturday, I ran with a friend in the morning and then DD1 and I took our dog to a near-by beach. We live near a lake. It's a thing for local kids to do lake plunges this time of year, while it's still ti%$ a$$ cold. DD1 plunged three times before complaining of numb limbs
I went mountain biking with a friend Saturday evening.
Sunday, we met up with another family at a local art festival.
Yesterday, H and I did yard work. We got far more accomplished that we usually do by this time of year - clearing pine cones, needles and setting up a fire protection space around the house. I really feel like an adult today...
