The "Home Alone" house is for sale

The McCallisters house from Home Alone is on the market:

It's so much bigger than I realized!  Obviously it was a big and lovely house, but the basketball courts, etc. are pretty extra.  It feels so strange to see it redecorated in so starkly.  Where are my 90s hunter greens?  Lol.

It's so joyless compared to the homey warmth of the home showcased in the holiday movie. I remember seeing it the last time it was listed, the latest owners really took it to a new greige place

FWIW - I'm being snooty b/c it's a $5M home with an indoor basketball court, but the lack of backyard landscaping is unacceptable for a home at that price....

It's like the inside and the outside are completely different houses.  I can't imagine walking in the front door and BOOM this stark white modern foyer.  Whiplash.

I also agree the landscaping is underwhelming.

This house makes me feel a little better about the choices I'm scared to make for our remodel since I know they're definitely not everyone's cup of tea. But at least no one will look at it and think bland.

I hope who ever owns it knows how to add some personality.

That was my first thought. The house sits on a 1/2 acre lot and the outdoor space is seriously underwhelming. Just a tiny deck and too much boring lawn.

I love that it has the Home Alone movie poster in the movie room.

The backyard is really bad for the price and house.
