It's Already Friday!

I feel like this week flew by... what's up for the weekend?

My older DD has a half day today and hatched a hilarious plan with her friends to take public transportation (bus) home from school at noon and roam the neighborhood. Despite living in the city her whole life, she's never taken the bus (only trains and subways) so this might end up with her an hour away in South Philly but it is a good life skill, lol.

DD2 and I have a middle school dance tonight. She is sleeping over with friends after. 

DD1 has soccer on Sunday but I think it's relatively close by.

Other than that, no plans. Dinner out on Saturday. We'll probably go somewhere to watch the Champions League final.

I can't believe it's already Friday - what a fast week! It was busy, but good. We got home from the tournament on Monday morning, so I just tried to get laundry done and clean up a bit. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday working on a project for my favorite non-profit, and I'm hoping to wrap it up today or early next week. It's been fun!

I had my last day with my bigger client yesterday. I went into the office to download my replacement/Boss#2's DD and to turn in my laptop and keys. It was... weird. Boss #1 didn't tell anyone it was my last day, and one of my coworkers made a comment about how he would have brought lunch in or something. But I kind of preferred having nothing. My replacement was pretty stunned when I walked her through everything I've been doing. She couldn't believe that I was able to do everything that I'd done just working part time. I also think the bosses weren't truthful about how many hours are required to stay above water. Oh well! Not my problem!

Not a ton planned this weekend. Honestly I kind of need a down weekend after last weekend. DD1 has a softball game tomorrow early afternoon, and then we will swing by my neighbor's house for a HS graduation party. My sister is visiting my parents with my two young nieces, and my nephew is home briefly in between his college graduation and starting his first big job, so I'd like to see them at some point. Maybe sneak out for a date with DH. We will see!

erbear, you just reminded me that the USWNT is playing on Saturday afternoon! I have to get that in my calendar! DD2 and I always watch together.

My neighbor is having a wine night. I'm up in the air about going. It would probably be fun, but I may just hang out in a lawn chair with Dh and wait for dd to get home. She starts her internship Monday and tried on her scrubs yesterday and plus got asked to chaperone a high school trip. Cue the I'M AN ADULT dance in her scrubs in the kitchen.

Ds also took steps this week for after military. He wants to go into electrician/lineman school, so hopefully he'll be doing that a year from August to finish out his service.

Tomorrow, I am helping and participating in one of my health coalitions 5k. I have to run anyway, so might as well on the clock. It's supposed to rain, so not sure how thar will turn out. Not sure what else, I wanted to float in a pool, but the weather doesn't seem cooperative.

In other news Dh did his first full day working from home. Cue, I could do this every day, I got so much done, I need to do this all the time. I'm working from home today, I don't think we would be good coworkers.

Another weekend, another softball tournament. This one has really crappy times - we have to leave at 6:30 am both days this weekend. And DD may not even play at all because of her thumb. Luckily it is getting better. I took her for an xray Tuesday and the bones all look good, so it’s just healing.

Otherwise this weekend is pretty quiet. Just a soccer game for DS2 and a bday party for one of DD’s friends jd it doesn’t end up conflicting with a softball bracket game - depends on their seeding after pool play.

My mom turns 75 tomorrow so I need to send her some flowers or something. My parents come back to town this week for a month, so we’ll celebrate for real once she’s here.

Our 15th anniversary was yesterday so we went out to brunch at a place I’ve been wanting to try. Then just otherwise worked the rest of the day and went to the kids’ school open house last night, where they all fought over whose classroom we would go to next/spend the most time in

I spent several hours looking for my cat and getting him out of a tree at the neighbor's house last night. He had been missing for 24 hours so I thought a coyote or something had gotten him. But I stepped out on the front porch and heard meowing, and thought it was coming from my neighbor's basement or garage. They helped us look and we found him across the street in another neighbor's tree. Everyone was very helpful, but it finally took me alone with a can of food to coax him down from 40 or more feet up to about 8 feet, and when he still wouldn't jump to the neighbors car 3 feet down, Beau was able to "lasso" him down with a rope on a dust mop. I'm glad to have him home but what a crazy night.

Tonight Beau and I are going to a 90's one hit wonder band rock concert. Tomorrow was supposed to be the only dry weekend day but the forecast changed to rain, so we're headed east over the mountains for a day trip with our bikes. Beau has a big project that he's been working on for work for several weeks and said he has to work on it Sunday. I'll find something to do without him and probably pick up lunch for him.

mae0111- omg! Crazy. At some point, you’re going to have to cut them off cold-turkey. I can feel it coming!

On the cat theme, there’s a cat who seems to want to live with us. We don’t know if he has a home, so I sent an email to our homeowners email list. We have had terrible storms the last few days, and he’s at our house day and night, meowing at the back door, begging for food and pets. So we may try to catch him and bring him to our vet to check for a chip if we don’t hear from anyone claiming him. Anyhow, we are all kind of hoping he becomes our 3rd inside boy. He’s so loving and snuggly.

I may have to work some this weekend. I’ve been really unmotivated this week and have a ton to do. I also have to travel next week toward the end of the week, coming home Saturday. Sunday I have to take DD to camp for her week of sleep-away camp, so everything needs to be bought, packed, and ready by the end of this weekend.

Tonight we've got the girls' birthday party with their friends. Hopefully it goes well. I didn't book an official party, we're just taking a few friends roller skating and I'll buy them food there. It'll be a ton of awkwardness since ExH and the child bride will be there, plus my ex in laws are stopping by to wish the girls happy birthday and hang out. DH won't even be there to help buffer since DS got invited to a party for one his friend's at the same time so he's handling that.

Tomorrow we're going to a little festival in town and then heading to have dinner with MIL for DH's birthday in the evening. I haven't gotten DH anything! I think DS and I will run to the mall tomorrow on a secret mission to see what we can find.

I'm hoping to fit in some chore time to get caught up since we were out of town over the long weekend and I've just felt kind of behind all week because of it.

I also bought myself a walking pad and I'm determined to get some more movement into my day with it. I'm not putting it under my desk yet, I'm going to use it while I watch tv in the evening. I don't think I'm coordinated enough to type and walk!

I totally work up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. The Ds had a big fight over dinner last night. They got over it and went to bed happy. I didn't. H was out of town for meetings yesterday (home at midnight), so I had to deal with grumpy kids on my own. They both woke up grumps this morning. H was lounging around in his bathrobe, lamenting on how much work he had to do before this evening, when he leaves for a guys trip for the weekend. He must have known his complaints were falling on deaf ears because he then asked if he could help with anything. I told him to get DD2 to brush her teeth (always a battle). His reply? "But she hasn't eaten breakfast yet." I was so not looking for a contradiction nor looking forward to another weekend of solo parenting....and I snapped at him.
There's a work stressor I shouldn't go into that's definitely impacting my anxiety level. It should be at least partially resolved by the middle of next week, but everyone in my office is on edge for now...

This weekend is a lot of softball and baseball for us. DD1 has games tonight and tomorrow morning and DD2 has a game tomorrow afternoon. We are going to see a minor league game in nearby town tomorrow night. It's our little leagues. Night at the game. Should be fun!

DD1 and I are volunteering for humane society event on Sunday and DD2 has a rather lengthy birthday party that day.

I'm hoping the girls are really good for me this weekend and H comes back from his trip happy and refreshed.

I feel we could all use a reset right about now

I have PT tonight and DD has soccer practice. Tomorrow DD has a birthday party and DS has a soccer game, but it is supposed to rain all day so the soccer game may get canceled. I'm annoyed because they left the last 5 games to be in the last 2 weekend of the season, so now what happens if they cancel? Schedule 2 on Sunday. Have 4 games next weekend? Sigh...

Sunday, the weather looks better and both kids have soccer games again.

I'm done adulting for the day. We switched phone plans and DH got a new phone plus we added another line for DD. Right now that line is a home phone line as DD behavior has been off the charts bad for her. It was a mess transferring things and we planned to do it while DD was at practice last night but DH decided to blow me off and help a neighbor instead so by the time he was free the stores and customers service was closed. West coast living sucks when everything runs on east coast time. So I was up extra early today dealing with it and taking him his phone since he is living right after work to play paintball in Eastern OR.

DD and I have a strawberry picking date with a friend and her 1 year old that we are both looking forward to Saturday morning. I'll spend Saturday afternoon cleaning berries and freezing them.

Sunday DD has to put the final touches on her science fair tri-fold. It is supposed to rain so a good day to do that vs Saturday sunny and 75 weather.
