Dear DD2, I'm so proud of you! You earned the academic achievement award for social studies and the art award for your grade. And yesterday your science teacher told me that she would have also chosen you for the science award, but they try to spread the awards around and not double up. Great work this year! Middle school was a rough transition for you but you made it! Sorry I can't be there for the awards ceremony but your step dad will be there and take all the proud parent pictures. Signed, Proud Mom
Dear DH, I understand that you're ready to get out of the restaurant business. It's been an uphill battle from the start and it's time to call it. But I think you have to be a little more realistic about what your next steps would be. You only want to work on days you don't have DS or only want mother's hours on the days you have him. I know it's ridiculous, but I swear, you'd be an amazing lunch worker at the schools. You love feeding kids and the hours fit! The pay sucks, but it would cover our bills when combined with what I make. Think about it! Love, Wife

Dear self,
Did you take your medication this morning? It’s only one pill but FFS I can’t remember if I took it today or yesterday.
I guess it’s time to buy one of those weekly pill dispenser thingies.
Sincerely, Getting old
Dear Car A/C,
The mechanic says there’s nothing wrong with you. You seem to be working now. I have to drive 10 hours through a heat wave this weekend — don’t let me down.
Wow you have been a giant PITA this last week for the entire family. How did you infect DS on the last day of school? Now DH is coming down with it. At least the kids and I are starting to get better.
Signed, Unhappy customer
Dear DH, Thank you for taking the kids to my mom's this week while the cold was stabbing me in my sinuses. It was actually our anniversary, so I felt that you were the embodiment of "in sickness and in health". Great job!
Signed, Wife
Dear Mom,
Thanks for taking the kids this week. Sounds like they had a blast at the beach yesterday. Hope you guys have a great few days, and we will see you all on Friday!
Great start to your internship! So proud of you! You looked so cute all scrubbed in for the OR.
Signed, Proud mom
Dear Ds,
I'm pretty astonished that I knew about Eminem's new song before you. And no I don't randomly go around saying Abracadabra. That's the classic he sampled young one.
Signed, kinda cool mom
Dear Dh,
I have no plan for dinner since my leftovers didn't stretch as long as I thought. You're working from home. Figure it out.
It's Wednesday. You told me Monday. You "hope" to have some formal idea of what my options are sometime next week. That is not acceptable. Figure it out before you break news like that.
k3am, that’s the kind of nonsense that’s going on in my company right now. Huge changes with no actionable plan to communicate of how we are supposed to work with the changes. So frustrating.
Dear Old Lady Whose Cat I Returned Yesterday,
If I had realized this cat we were really in love with likely ran away from your house because you have 15 cats who all live outside and they’re getting territorial, I would never have returned him to you. We had terrible storms last night and I was up all night worrying about him. At least here he had a garage to sleep in, and we planned on adopting him and bringing him in our house.
If he comes back here, we are absolutely 100% not returning him to you.

Dear friend who is also a client I've asked you numerous times to please call the office and not use my cell phone to communicate business stuff. You text or call me at the randomness times. 6:30 am or after 5pm are not business hours and I'm putting my foot down on talking business outside of business time. Cranky friend who is about to block you
Dear Mom No, we don't hate you, but your behavior lately reminds us of your mother (Grams). When I was a kid you would bite your tongue and then spew after getting off the phone with Grams. Guess what that is how all 3 of us kids feel right now. Dad calling you out on your behavior was the right thing. You need to stop and listen to yourself. Eldest kid PS we don't have to do DD's b-day at your house this weekend
Dear Me Why are you so cranky and short tempered? Yelling at the computer/software doesn't fix anything.

Dear coworker,
I appreciate you covering my emails for me yesterday, but I didn't need to you start a fight with one of my clients and drag their president into the mix. Yes, I agree their IT department is lacking and they should reach out to their internal IT department more often before running to me for help. I will continue to work with them and try to get them more independent, but they will always be my client that needs more hand holding than others.
Today the school district's graduating seniors that attended the elementary school I work at came to say hi to their old teachers, eat some ice cream & play with the kids at recess. It was so fun watching them play tag, give piggy back rides and join soccer, pickle ball, football and four square games. The graduates and elementary kids had a blast!
I think I've said it before, but thank you SO MUCH for giving my daughter her very own recorder! She LOVES it. She's been practicing Hot Cross Buns and It's Raining It's Pouring several times a day for the last two weeks. Particularly lovely at 6am and in the middle of a conference call.
