Another shooting in Michigan

At a splash pad. On a beautiful 80 degree day. This is 5 miles from my house. My kid’s summer camp goes to this splash pad and swimming at the park next door. Our country is fucking broken.

I learned about this while at our local splash pad, and suddenly I was looking around for things to hide behind if needed. I can’t imagine how terrifying it was for those families.

John James is such a POS. He had to leave the Trump rally in Detroit so he could make that BS statement. He has taken hundreds of thousands of dollars from the gun lobby. He has absolutely no interest in doing anything at all to prevent this.

@@near my hometown recently some friends were at their kid’s high school baseball game and there was a shooting. Nobody in the game or crowd was hit, but there was a camera filming the game from behind home plate. It was absolutely bone chilling seeing the players duck and run off the field for cover. The local news covered it but there are so many shootings, the nationals news doesn’t even cover them all.

Meanwhile the Supreme Court overturned the bump stock ban that was put in place after the Vegas festival shooting.

I always think about how the stats often only talk about those who died, but it’s also all the people injured, some who’s injuries impact their life drastically and forever, all the witnesses, all those at the event and all the family and friends of all of those people.
