We are moving soon and everything we currently have must go (it’s furniture we’ve had for almost twenty years that was bought to suit a small nyc appt.) the new house is 1900 sqft on two stories, with main living spaces upstairs.
We are in suburban, Sf Bay Area. The far side of the neighborhood backs up to the bay and the bottom of our garden (20 feet downhill) faces hillside but is a dry marsh that gets some saltwater during king tides, but never waves.
General design ideas and salt air friendly gardening ideas for zone 10a needed
My Allform couch is awesome! It's held up really well for 3 years now and made all the better that it's made from recycled materials. They have chairs and ottomans too.
I have a few pieces from Article that I love and their whole design aesthetic would fit perfectly in your house. It's all MCM, clean simple lines. My friend has a lot of their outdoor furniture and it has held up really well to our hot hot dry summers and our brutally cold winters (obviously wouldn't be a concern for you, but I see quality in something that can handle the temperature swings in western Canada).

I have Room & Board furniture and highly recommend. A fabric button cover came off one of the buttons on my sofa. I emailed asking if they could send me a replacement button and they sent a guy to my house to fix it for me at no cost!
Thank you, for the suggestions. I’ve been looking through them and getting inspiration.
After visiting a bunch of places and seeing a lot of wood furniture with overdone unnatural looking finishes I realized something. It’s the home decor version of someone pleating way too much contour and highlight to look ‘natural’ on zoom /instagram/tik tok. Real wood grain is t as visible on a photo on your phone and so many people buy stuff online without actually seeing or touching it. (Most of the sofas are meant to be seen not sat on as well)
We live by the restoration hardware headquarters and they keep their giant flagship store so dim (even though the sky is blue and cloudless). They don’t want you to see what their stuff would look like if you put it in a regular, sunlit house. Lol.
Now I want to see your house because it sounds like one I would adore Are you thinking mid-century style? Article, joybird, vintage markets are all good and not too crazy expensive.
