It's not your imagination, and it's not new. The Computational Social Science Lab at the University of Pennsylvania is just one of many groups that researches misinformation/disinformation and how it spreads. They released some research on the New York Times's anti-Biden bias back in March that's an interesting read if this sort of thing is your jam (it most definitely is mine): css.seas.upenn.edu/new-york-times-a-case-study-in-inconsistent-narrative-selection-and-framing-that-tends-to-favor-republicans/
Many/most news publications have been bought by very conservative companies in the last few years. Fox News has made a LOT OF MONEY by selling fake news and working old people into a tizzy. All the conservative assholes want to copy them. Whoever owns the news, gets to persuade people how to think, who to vote for, etc.

They had a lot of anti HRC articles too. I have actually stopped subscribing to them since then. It is weird because I don't know that they are ever actively pro trump but they are anti biden and were anti HRC
I stopped reading/subscribing to the NYT years ago - they became more and more sensationalist and pushing things that seemed to just be for 'clickbate' versus actually doing news. Definitely have felt a more right wing push as time has gone on.

It's not your imagination. It's completely worthless now.
There's speculation that the newish owner (or editor in chief? can't remember), a conservative asshole, has a vendetta against Biden for refusing to give an exclusive interview. This is his retribution.
I mostly stick to la times, wapo, guardian, bbc, al jazeera. I'm obviously not reading them all in their entirety everyday. But, if something comes across my news feeds, those are usually the only sources I'll read.
