I finally finished The Helsinki Affair. It wasn't terrible but was still a bit of a slog.
Then I read The Russian Cage (Gunnie Rose #3), which I enjoyed.
Now I am reading Children of Anguish and Anarchy. I'd hoped this book would make up for a disappointing second instalment but that doesn't seem to be the case.
QOTW: I've always enjoyed professional displays but if it's all or nothing I would be okay with a ban.
I finished The Lost Letters from Martha's Vineyard by Michael Callahan,3* (ok, nothing memorable). I'm currently reading Reformatory by Tananarive Due.
Qotw: I personally wouldn't care if all fireworks were banned, but my kids and husband (who grew up where they are banned) love them so I wouldn't ban them. I personally like the drone shows better.

Finished The Cheat Sheet, Right on Cue, and Happy Medium. I thought they were all cute.
Started listening to Piglet which I have mixed feelings about. It's about a woman, on the verge of her wedding (chapters are "20 days before", "16 days before " etc) and her life unraveling. I think it's a really great commentary on women and food and societal pressures, but it's hard to watch someone being so self destructive.
Started reading Shark Heart, about a man turning into a shark and I really love the way it's written.
Started reading The Husbands about a woman who comes home to a strange man in her apartment who is her husband, whom she has never met. And the book continues with a string of these men going into her attic and coming down a different husband. It's hysterical and I'm loving it.
QOTW: If you successfully ban all fireworks displays, both professional and amateur, would you? I enjoy fireworks and haven't hit the point of being frustrated enough with the amateur ones, so I'm not at the point of banning them. Besides, amateur fireworks are illegal where I live and they go off year round.
