Thursday: Ebike Friday: Ebike in the woods Sat.: Off. I had to work from 10-3, and it started pouring right as I was going out...so I worked on the new ebike. Sunday: NEW E-BIKE FIRST RIDE DAY!!! I'm in love with Oby (I think that's her nickname...yes, we name bikes like some people name cars. Her full name is Obsidian). I'm taking recommendations for nicknames.
Yesterday during my 9 mile run it was sooooooo humid - I truly don't know how you southerners do it! Enjoy your new ebike, sadlebred ! We're currently shopping for one for my DH to use as a commuter bike. I got a cargo ebike (Blix Packa Genie) 2 years ago and its been such a game changer for our family.
Our holiday started Wednesday so I am counting that day, too Wed: 17m group ride(road) Thurs: 40 min Pilates reformer, 7.25m cycle, trail Fri: 1.5 mile walk with dog, rest day Sat: 25 mile mix trail, gravel ride Sun: nothing. It’s been blissful. Although there’s still time! we did a quick 11.5 miles mix road/trail after dinner
scm1011 Thanks! It's the newest Specialized gravel bike....my 2nd (I have the earlier version--that bike is almost four year old). So far I really like it!
I don't know how anyone can do a regular cargo bike anymore! They are so heavy!
Thurs - short run, 2.5 mi Fri - 2 mile SUP Sat - long run, 7.47 miles Sun - drove home from vacation
I am super proud of myself for sticking to all my miles on vacation. We were away for 8 days, and my planned miles were:
6 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 7 = 22
I actually did
5.15 (cut short by t-storm) + 3.22 + 3.5 + 2.5 + 7.47 = 21.84
Between weather, kids, activities, margarita nights, being out in the sun at the beach and not drinking enough water, having to plan new routes, etc., it's so easy to fall off the wagon, but I am very proud of myself that I did not.
Wednesday and Thursday: 20 min walk each day Friday: 3 mile run Saturday: 8 ish mile outdoor bike at the cabin Sunday: 20 mile outdoor bike
Still battling a cold that has settled in my nose and lungs, so workouts have been hard. Tried to take intentional rest days last week, but it hasn't paid off yet.
sadlebred , I definitely couldn't lug 90lbs of kids + a heavy bike without the e-assist. I try to use it on the lowest level possible so its still a workout. But yeah, even when its just me that thing is HEAVY!
Susie , go you!! Its so hard to follow through with training on vacation. We are in Europe for 10 days at the end of the month and I'm already worried about making sure I get a decent training week in. I actually thinking I'm going to sign up for a couple $$ running tours to make sure I get miles in!

That sounds so fun!
I've also looked for races to sign up for; sometimes I get lucky. I did a 5 mile race in Dublin one year that happened to fall while we were there (how weird to run a race measured in miles vs. km in the EU?), and every year over Labor Day I do a 7 mile race at the beach
This year I have 15 miles on the calendar the weekend of the 7 miler, so I'll run 2.5 miles from my dad's to the start... 7 in the race... then another 5.5 "cool down" or similar!

This is a great idea! Unfortunately I looked and don't see any races that would work.
