I’m not from the US and still find gaps in my general knowledge.

I was watching a trashy documentary about the Laci Peterson murder and Gloria Allred was featured. She seemed cool so I read her Wikipedia page. She seems kind of awesome based on that.

Ii trust y’all though, is she someone who does good things in a very public way, or is there anything I should read more on?

She's controversial, but i think most of the criticism is she's a publicity hound and is vainglorious.

Of course sexism is very much at play, too, both because she's a woman and she takes on feminist causes. Lots of reproductive rights, employment discrimination, and representing women in cases against celebrities accused of sexual assault.

I can’t think of what it was, but I watched a WILD documentary and the bad person in the documentary was legally represented by Gloria Allred’s daughter. I had to google her and her daughter to find out WTF about the whole storyline. He was like a conman or a murderer or something.
