My H is flying today too and is very happy he didn't have to check a bag because that's going to be a big issues.
We're being impacted in the UK - hospitals and GPs are unable to access records, airlines, banks, etc. It's truly impacted things globally. I know some surgeries will have to be cancelled, my GP has cancelled everything except emergencies.

Everything at my job is still messed up. I can't access Skype, Outlook, our shared drive or Teams. Word sort of works, but i can't save anything so lol. Not exactly sure what I am supposed to do today and I can't contact anyone to figure it out!

The dude bro who runs CrowdStrike is getting dragged on social media because he was all “this was the issue and we are fixing it, why you mad?” (I’m loosely paraphrasing.)
Like he shut down half of Fortune500 around the world and he’s just like 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️.
Teams, network drives, internal websites and one of my data systems is currently down. I can get to Outlook, one drive files and data through Tableau. I wish they would just tell us to log off for the day.
I WFH and experience so many connectivity issues on the daily that it's hard to know what is down because of the outage and what is just the usual virtual desktop BS. Thank you melissa you saved me from rebooting my TEAMS yet again!
I work in the hospital and it is impacting us majorly. I do not have anything to do with patient care so I am not sure how they are handling that, but many of us are without our computers; we cannot even turn them on.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
H works at a major airport. He's so beyond over it. EVERYTHING there is fucked over because of this. And it sounds like people are pissed. He hasn't given me much info, just a few texts but man I can't imagine how stressed he is right now.
I’m at LGA and it’s pretty eerie. Lots of blank computer screens and no one seems to have answers. My flight is delayed 2 hours but I’m not confident I’ll leave today.
Everything at my work seems to be working. There's some doubt that our major piece of software is going to continue to function. It went down last night, came back up, and now their support is down again. I bet the whole shebang goes down one more time before this is all over.
Oh, this is why there was a sign taped on the door at the UPS store that said "We're closed today because we can't get into our systems." I thought that was very odd but anything is possible. It's so stressful when systems are down.

I had a mammogram scheduled, and I called to see if it was still on. They told me they’re glad I called because they’re turning people away with non-emergency issues. And they’ve no way to contact them, because all appointments and phone numbers are online.

I work at a doctors office affiliated with a large hospital system, got woken up at 5:30 am by a robocall from work to my cell phone about the outage. But got to work today and everything is fine here at the office.

My work stuff is unaffected, so I'm glad about that. I read the AP article and it sounds disastrous for so many. I hope the fix is done soon and things can go back to functioning!
I think I'll squirrel some cash under my mattress tonight.
I did last year after our banking systems went down twice in Canada. We couldn't use debit or credit and couldn't access cash from the bank. H and I rarely have cash, but I had just sold something on Marketplace and had $100 in my wallet. We stretched that until the systems were back online and then pulled $1,000 to stash in our safe. I know conventional wisdom says it's stupid because that money could be earning interest in the bank, but I sleep a lot better at night knowing I won't be hosed when (I won't even say if) this happens again.
My airport was fine, flight not delayed. Delta is informing passengers that digital boarding passes can’t be accepted, and aside from their displays around the airport showing the blue screen of death, I’d never know anything was wrong.

I did that about 10 years ago. Only we don’t have a safe so I hid it in a couple of random places around the house. And promptly forgot. Then I was packing for a move and found $200 in between my china dishes. Things like that 🤣
I was working overnight (I'm a nurse) and it was very bad. We had one computer intermittently working for the unit (luckily a very, very small unit), couldn't scan meds we were giving for quite a while, had to send blood tests with paper orders that we checked off, etc. It would randomly start working on someone's phone or a computer, then suddenly stop. I've worked when we've had scheduled downtime before, but we had access to read-only versions of the chart, so you knew exactly which meds were needed and at which dose, etc.
I can't imagine what the more critical units were/are going through. Apparently there are still issues according to the texts I keep getting.

I had an appointment to get bloodwork done. It took me a month to get an appointment before 10 am, which I wanted because I had to fast. I was so nervous that I'd get there and it would be cancelled. They said as long as I had the written order of what bloodwork I needed from my doctor, they could do it. I did. Most of the people there were like my mom's age, so of course they did, because they still like the paper everything. One guy didn't have his paperwork and they explained that since the system was down, they couldn't look up the order and take his blood today. He yelled, "Just remember everyone! Crowdstrike did this to us!" and stormed out.
I hate the reminders of how fragile and interconnected our systems are.
In our personal lives, too, as I'm currently experiencing after my phone, which is also my sole internet source, entirely shorted out overnight while I slept, my car was in the shop, and there's no way to call for a ride. (laundromat with free wifi nearby to the rescue!)
We don't realize how entirely dependent we've become until it goes away which is not new. I'm sure people lamented their broken horseless carriage when they had to remember how to saddle up again.
