I hate the reminders of how fragile and interconnected our systems are.
In our personal lives, too, as I'm currently experiencing after my phone, which is also my sole internet source, entirely shorted out overnight while I slept, my car was in the shop, and there's no way to call for a ride. (laundromat with free wifi nearby to the rescue!)
We don't realize how entirely dependent we've become until it goes away which is not new. I'm sure people lamented their broken horseless carriage when they had to remember how to saddle up again.
My cell phone bricked overnight right after we shut down for covid. I was grateful that H's didn't so we weren't completely without communication.
