This was my Congresswoman! 😔 I was so shocked, she had only just announced the cancer diagnosis. Now I'm very curious about what happens for the seat, since she just won a runoff for the nomination. Would the other person she ran against get it, or do we have another election? Do the party officers just pick someone? I actually voted for the other person (younger but similar Dem candidate) so I would be happy if she gets to run for the seat.

* Governor Greg Abbot to call for a Special Election to fill the seat until the November election. The winner of the general election takes the seat.
* Democratic Party to convey and nominate a person to run in her place for the general election.
