Also, I like Buttigieg on paper, but for some reason he annoys me on a deep personal level. In the 2020 primaries, I hated how everyone kept bringing up how *smart* he is, as though that was in contrast to the other candidates. Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris and Cory Booker are just as smart as he is! His intelligence is not higher than the others! I dunno, it's an irrational irritation, but it's mine, lol
He's my pick now. Kamala, if you're reading this thread, please take my thoughts into consideration.
lol can you imagine. Kamala lurking around here, refusing to make any VP decisions until she consults GBCN.
I've seen reddit threads I've either read or commented on quoted in news (it's not real news but fluff on news websites) articles. Certainly tv producers lurk there. I'd be surprised if there wasn't at least some monitoring of political threads over there. Some are very good, most are trash.
Come here, Harris team, where those no risk of trash!

I am holding out for Mark Kelly - with interest in gun reform while being pro 2A, another border state which would help shut down some of the "they don't care about the border" nonsense - plus I think it would be great to elevate Gabby Giffords into the second lady seat. There's a democratic governor is holding AZ right now so she'd be able to pick his replacement.

I'd put my money on Shapiro. A needed swing state, executive experience as PA's gov. I wouldn't be surprised if the pick is Kelly, he's amazing and has experience-based quals, but he is a senator and so was she, so I feel like maybe she'd want some balance.
I have seen some interviews with Beshear and he definitely wants it but he is not a good strategic pick unfortunately.
Roy Cooper has been pitching it too but like he's 10 years older and looks it, not enough to excite anyone.
I like Mark. He will be able to drive the message and really make the case. I like Shapiro too.
I like Roy Cooper a lot, I think he has appeal, but the 7 years that he has over Kelly really seems significant. I hate to say it, but I think Kelly's at the top edge of what we would want to see for VP.

This is where I am leaning right now too. i don’t know much about him, so he’s not MY dream pick, but I think this would be a good strategic move for PA.
I’d be happy with Shapiro as a strategic pick to lock up PA, but man I love Mark Kelly. Make America Smart Again! How great would it be to juxtapose Mark staying with his disabled wife (and running for office because she couldn’t!) with Trump who sleeps around on his pregnant wife. Not that MAGAts care, but still.
In addition to all that has already been said, Mark Kelly has an equally impressive astronaut twin! So he can campaign in two places at once! If anything happens to him, we have a spare! Think of the possibilities!
Americans love twins. And astronauts. And war heroes (suck it JD Vance.) Mark has two cops for parents. Apparently he speaks Russian from his time on the ISS but maybe that’s a rumor.
maybe John McCain is up above pulling some strings, making sure the strong AZ war hero Senator will have a big part in bringing Trump down.

Between McCain and everything else, there have been 6 US Senator elections in Arizona since 2010.
2010 - McCain 2012 - Flake 2016 - McCain Kyl and McSally interim 2018 - Sinema 2020 - Kelly 2022 - Kelly
This year we have election for Sinema's replacement as well. We should not be having elections every 2 years for 6 year terms. Hah. (2016,2018,2020,2022,2024)
So yea, "you" can take Kelly, but then I would like a little break from Senatorial elections for a bit, please.
Does anyone know where we can see what the potential VP picks’ stances are on the genocide? That affects my personal opinion on who I want.
Yea, this could be a big thing. At first I was leaning towards just locking in Pennsylvania, but if there are issues with his Stance in Gaza, that could lead to some sitting out the election.
Good thing I’m not a political strategist. This is pretty beyond me.

After looking at everything, I am hoping for Kelly. There are so many positives in his column that he has to be at least in the top 3 choices. I'd be very happy with a Harris/Kelly ticket for sure.

I mean, I’m voting for Harris no matter what. It sounds like she wants to be tougher on Israel than Biden has been and I’d like it if she had someone on her team who also supports that, but I know there is a lot of strategy that goes into making the choice.
