Working in a windowless office

Any tips? I hate fluorescent lights and glare. What kind of lighting do I need? I would love something that mimics sunlight.

The best I’ve done is put a cover over the fluorescent lights that I got on Amazon, and I put 4-5 lamps around with soft white lights bulbs. It’s not perfect. I take a lot of breaks and I got a walking pad, which is only helpful for able-bodied and not related to light but seems to help boost energy and productivity.

Sansiveria/snake plants will still grow in an office that has no natural light, if you want to add some cheer/oxygen (I just wouldn’t take one that’s been in a bright environment and move it straight there).

Pathos plants thrive in fluorescent light too! I kept some in my windowless office for four years and they did great.

I don’t know much but I hear “up lighting” is the way to go.

Is it a big open space without windows but other people or you in an inside room on your own?

How the sound? Can you add music?

It's a small office to myself. I'm a teacher and will do small groups with no more than 4 students at once.

Then I’d get box lights for the floor/corners that shine light up. Maybe put something functional in front so it breaks up the way the light hits the space.

Do you have the big rectangular ceiling lights? They sell those light covers that magnet to the drop ceiling rails. They sell many patterns, but i have seen blue sky with clouds ones.

I just bought floor lamps and desk lamps and refused to use the overhead light. I then decorated with lots of pictures of the outdoors.

we had these in our windowless offices but then they replaced the lights to be energy efficient and we had to take them down.

I have corner lights that I use and try to decorate my office. I wish I had like a live cam of the weather outside at all times though. That would be so nice.

This isn't something to use instead of overhead lights, but I do like it a lot. A coworker bought one of these for those of us that have windowless offices. I was surprised at the difference it makes for me. I keep it on my desk and put it on a few times a day - I don't notice it much, until it turns off.

I use lamps with warm lightbulbs.
