How much would you pay? Cat edition

We are going on vacation next week so our cat needs to be taken care of while we are gone.

The girl taking care of her is 13 and lives about 6 houses away from us.

She will:

Feed the cat wet food once a day (cat will have dry food available to her all day)
Clean cat litter boxes
Water plants once

So what is the going rate?

ETA: I asked what her what she is charging and she said she didn’t care. Lol… teenagers so helpful

I would pay $10 a day. We paid that for a neighbor kid to come water our Christmas tree. We paid $20 a day when we needed him to come water our sod twice a day.

My teen watches cats for a couple of neighbors and both give her $10 per day (two times a day to one neighbor, once a day to the other). She does not have to do litter boxes at either house, though.

I’d prob do $15/day.

The 14yo that does this for our cats gets paid $15 a day, but he is also refilling dry food daily and feeding our gecko every other day.

Do you want her to spend any time with the cat? We pay 20-23 (depending on the person) to adults but they also spend 15-20 minutes with the cat.

I'd give her $50.

We pay our cat sitter $15/visit. She comes twice a day, and does all the stuff you mentioned. She also wheels our trash cans out if we’re gone over trash day, and takes extra time to play with the kitties and sends us photos.

So I think $15/day is about right. You could round up or down.

She's only coming once a day, otherwise I'd agree and I'd probably do $20/day. 

David occasionally takes care of the dogs across the street and they pay him $25/day for twice a day. It's four dogs and it's all different food/meds. David spends at least an hour a day with them and sends them pic/text updates. They were so impressed, they gave him a $100 tip! So, you can always give a little something extra if she goes above and beyond.

I have a similar situation, same age, same distance away. I paid her $25 for 2 days the first time and then $30 for 2 days the second time. She came twice (on her own will) the second day which I actually appreciated so I gave her a few more bucks.

I gave the neighbor kid $100 for 8 days of feeding only. Our cat isn’t picky about litter boxes and has two. Going a week was fine.
