Cyclists, like runners, LOVE to do events for charity. I can't count the number of Ride for This Cause we have in the region--most weekends there is one within a 3-4 hour drive and often 1-2 hours. I only do, maybe, 2/year, but they are fun! When someone is trying to run me over on the road, I don't know if they are aware of how much I've helped raise for charities over the years.
Friday: 1 hour peddle-boat trip across Lac Annecy (France) Saturday : 5 mile run across an international border (Swiss/French) Sunday: 90+ minute hike in the Alps
I’m having an amazing vacation!! I haven’t kept up with my marathon plan but we’ve been so active I think it’s fine (I’m averaging 20k steps a day) 😊
Today is 2 weeks since shingles symptoms appeared, and I've run every mile on the calendar in that time. There were some really hard days, but I didn't want to fall behind on marathon training. Having mostly made it through, I did what every reasonable runner does: new shoe day reward I switched from Ghosts to Glycerins with my last pair and liked them, so I got a 2nd pair of Glycerins to rotate in.
scm1011, I can't wait to hear more about your trip when you are back! It's a bucket list item of mine to visit a German speaking country (because that's the language I learned many years ago and would love to have a chance to brush up and actually use it). I've been leaning toward parts of Austria/Switzerland that are German speaking vs. Germany, but have not done much real planning yet.
