I know most people are team skip them, but my almost 5 year old is skipping a big party to have a small family party and I think he’d like favors. It’s a pool party. I’ve already used my good ideas: dive sticks and reusable water balloons. Any other good ideas?
It’s 7 kids and all are either my kids cousins so I’m willing to go up to $10 a person.

Those little balls that skip and float on water. We have some for the beach and my (older) kids love them. They make sets with games, too, but they are more than $10. I'll see if I can find an example.
One of my kids once got a pool float (from Five Below) at a party. I usually just do candy because I hate favors. I buy a bunch of theater boxes at the dollar tree and let kids pick what they like.
The larger tube water cannons are fun too (easier to use than squirt guns).

I will vouch that those skipping on water balls are really fun. We brought one back from our last vacation for the kid who fed my dd's gerbil, and they bring it to the pool and they all play with it all the time. I also like the ideas of beach towels (useful) or water squirters (fun).
water guns are always popular at our parties. We do love the balls that skip on water and dive toys, too. But regardless of age, water guns are always a hit.
I generally prefer consumable favors (snacks, candy, etc) but in this case I think a beach towel, maybe a mini beach ball, and some cheap sunglasses could be cute.

we got a beach towel from a recent pool party and it was a big hit. They were set out from the beginning and all the kids loved having matching towels.

We picked up "Splash Balls" at Target before our beach camping trip. They're $6 for a pair (but stores are clearing out their summer stuff to make room for BTS and ... Halloween)

I guess I’m in the minority and would hate most of these things listed and would immediately post on buy nothing. Just because I’m going to a pool party doesn’t mean I need pool accessories. I would go with something edible or maybe a pool towel as I’d just use it as a regular towel, so at least somewhat helpful.
I know favors can be annoying and a waste but I find it much easier to get my kids to leave a party if I can say ‘hey, you get something on your way out!’ We live in a warm climate so any of these suggestions would be something we’d use frequently in the pool or at the beach.
