*Backstory* I was flirting/texting with this guy. He started getting weird. I figure out he went back to his exgf. He kept denying. Finally his gf texts me latest week telling me he's been living with her for months and they've been back together for that long. I start talking with her about how I figured something was up. ::insert awkward "he both played us. Now we text randomly to keep up with what he's trying to sell us":: She broke up with him. I ignore his text.
*Real story*Well, I get a text from her this morning with a picture. He beat the shit out of her last night and was arrested. WTF. She's okay. Has a support system. Poor girl. That could have been me.
I get to work. The manager of one of my stores is wearing a short, fluffy, black skirt. A wrinkly white long sleeve collar shirt and black sneakers with white socks. She works a retail store. Black pants/white collar shirt. I have printed out her dress code over and over again. I come back to check on her and she is now wearing orange flip flops. I write her up. I call her regional boss and fax him her write up. He calls me to tell me to retract my write up since she says she doesn't know the dress code. I'm sure flip flops are acceptable where he works? WTF. I got our Loss prevention guy to screen shot her outfits over the last week (jeans, yoga pants, graphic tees, etc.). I emailed them all to her regional boss. No response.
My STBXH calls me to tell me that our divorce papers were never filed by his attorney. I called and set up a consultation with a lawyer right after I get off the phone with him. I will be calling his lawyer on Monday to get the whole story (the office was closed). WTF
My dog is randomly puking. He keeps drinking but is also puking. I found a pebble in some vomit with his food. I think he's been eating rocks again and it's irritated his tummy.
I no longer have a day off tomorrow and will be working 10 days in a row now because someone always gets "sick" on the weekends they work.
Good news is that Tricare will now cover my surgery to remove tissue caused from my endo since I will not be divorced for another three fucking months. Which my STBXH will be in training.

I hope it gets better for you Lemon.
Something to try with the manager, print out the dress code and make her sign and date it once read completely. Then keep it on file for the next time. We had to do that with a similar problem at a store I worked at. Once it is signed and dated, she can't say she didn't know, and you can write her up and make it stick.

Good idea. I just am amazed her boss thinks it's okay her orange flip flops were okay since she didn't know the dress code. She's worked at the company on and off for almost three years. She's testing me since I'm new.

Not trashy, just a rough patch. When it rains it pours right?
It will get better, just indulge tonight and start fresh tomorrow.
Also, I would let the DM know that she has read and signed the policy in your presence so that there should not be any more issues. That way the next time you forward a write up, they should back you up because it has already been put on the table.
Follow up: the guy texted me. We were suppose to go on a trip next week. LOL. WTF? That shit isn't happening. My dog puked up a beetle. It may be in my mind but I thought it twitched before I cleaned it up. I guess that was it. He got some pumpkin in his dinner for good measure. I see my mom next week! Squee!!! It's been over a year since I last saw her and I was heavily medicated during that time.
