Please be fun, as relaxing as possible. Let's get to spend a nice week together as a family. Also, let's not spend hours trying to figure out where to eat.
Dear body, You are seriously rebelling against me right now and I don't appreciate it. I got my thyroid numbers under control and adjusted the dosage of my medication. But I've gained about 12 pounds in 2 months. That seems like a lot considering I've had no major changes in my lifestyle during that time! And now my joints in my hands are acting up again, which is usually a sign that my thyroid meds are off, but we know you're back to normal now. Can you please get it together? Signed, The ownership
Dear ExH, I upgraded the girls' phones. They are still Gabb phones, but have a few more features now. It was a free upgrade for the devices and I pay the phone bill myself anyway. I know you are completely anti-iPhone for them, which is fine, I will go along with that for now. But these new phones will allow them to actually get alerts from school, which is better for us! No more being the middle man/secretary for them! So get off your high and mighty horse about how this is "unnecessary" and you don't agree with it. Vote with your dollars next time. Signed, I pay the bills, I make the decisions
Yesterday was a great day. I had a lot of fun with you both! It's been a really long time since anything like that happened. It was a nice end to a bumpy vacation. Let's have more days like that - ok?? It wasn't perfect - none of us are perfect - but it was pretty awesome. Love you both.
Mom
Dear new work system -
It's been 2 weeks. Can you please start working the way you were supposed to? I'm getting pretty annoyed and frustrated. Every day it's different. I hate it.
Thank you, The frustrated and inexperienced bookkeeper

twinmomma, I'm with you, feeling like my body is against me right now. I have all kinds of weird ailments that I'll probably end up going to the doctor over. I just wish my regular doctor's appointments weren't 8+ weeks out.
Dear smoke detectors,
We didn't appreciate the middle of the night wake up for no reason. I'm hope that changing batteries today will resolve the issue, but I'm worried there may be a wiring issue in the house due to random blown breakers recently. I have a good relationship with our landlord but I don't like having him in my house.
Signed, Sleepy today
Dear DS,
I'm happy that you get to go on a big vacation next week somewhere an airplane ride away with your dad. I can't wait to hear about it when you get back. But I'm sorry your dad is playing mind games with you, telling you not to tell me where the destination is until you get back. That's not fair to you to put you in the middle.
Again, you suck. We left you. Now you are raising Ds's rate. And you are tripling it for several months because you are saying you should have raised it months ago. But forgot? And now trying to take extra out to make up for it.
Signed angry mom.
Dear Ds,
GET SOME NEW INSURANCE. WE TOLD YOU THEY SUCKED WHEN WE LEFT!!!!
Signed, being a mother of an adult sucks because it would be more efficient if I took care of things.
Dear Gym Coaches Thank you for listening to DD yesterday and helping her brainstorm foods she could eat before and during practice to give her the energy she needs to do gymnastics. Also thank you for telling her not to fast for 6 hours before her 3-hour practice and that was a recipe for disaster. Gym mom
WPs Cutting dairy and wheat until the 20th and possible after is going to be really hard. One of the coaches suggested she try following the KETO diet as that cuts those items. DD googled and was pretty shook up with the thought process of loosing weight following that diet. Worrying me
Dear ExH Sorry DS bothered you by calling and texting last night. I know it doesn’t happen often, but he had a quick question for you. When you answered the phone and said “what! I’m in therapy!” I didn’t realize he was interrupting your marriage counseling.
186momx doesn’t keto involve cutting out startchy carbs like potatoes? Seems like she would want to lean on stuff like that based on her caloric needs??? And just being young and active and enjoying food in general!
This is one of the things I hate about modern healthcare.. here, upend your diet, but we’re not going to give you a blueprint for how to do that in a healthy way that works for your lifestyle. 🙄
Dear DD1, I wish you were happier. Being 13 is hard. Your camp this week is hard. Being around grandparents - for you- is hard. Going three weeks without therapy is hard. I will be asking what you need from me when I pick you up for lunch. Ur Mom
Dear MIL, Thanks for being observant without judgement. Your oldest DIL
Dear week, Can we finish the work? Thanks! dglvrk2
k3am, 100% agree. The allergy doc didn't listen to her at all. So, let's take a 13yr old competitive gymnast and tell her not to eat 6hours before she works out and that she needs to cut dairy and wheat from her diet but give her no guidance on how to do that. She brought spaghetti for lunch yesterday and ate it at 11:30, 4hrs before practice and didn't eat again. By 5pm she was lightheaded and woozy and could barely finish out practice which still had 60 minute to go. If the testing comes back positive later this month I'm going to insist the allergy docs write her a referral to a nutritionist to help us figure out how to adjust.
Dear Allergy office staff Got my text from Costco stating DD's EPI pen is ready to pick up and it costs $286. I really hope you stick to your word and help me get that price lowered. Stupid health insurance/drug companies
186momx, If you need help navigating options for wheat and dairy free options, send me a PM! I'm gluten free and DS is allergic to wheat and dairy, so we have a lot of practice!
This has been my week of DS appointments. I had his post op- everything looks good but they want us to come back in 3 months and make sure that tooth is coming up since that was the point of the surgery. Then I took DS to get his new ear mold. They made the first set with too big of a hole, so then we got a whole new set in January which fixed a lot of the problem, but it still is a bit problematic. Tomorrow he has a haircut.
I am happy that I am done driving for camps!!!!! Yay we are done. I invited a bunch of people to the block party. I am still annoyed that they want to charge $50 donation per family, and DH is supposed to help our neighbors cook (but we aren't providing the food) and we are supposed to bring a side. I'm like for $50 I'm probably not going to bring a side. They are the ones that chose to get a $$$ band and all.
WP, do you think $50 is pricey for a block party? I've only paid 0 or maybe $10 (but they ended up waiving that due to extra food). I can see covering costs, but I guess I prefer more of $20 per family and bring food/ drinks.
waverly ,What would the $50 go towards? I agree it's expensive.
Tent, chairs, food, band, and bouncy house.
Last year it rained, and they brought their own open tent which was small, I don't know if they rented something bigger in case of rain. We all brought our own chairs last year and brought sides and drinks. So really I feel like it should just be food and bouncy house. The band was their choice- other block parties don't typically have one, and it was $400 of the total $1200 price they told us about.
Last year we paid $0, so going from $0 to $50 was a bit of a sticker shock considering we aren't choosing to host this party. We agreed to go before we knew the price and can't back out now, but their various emails did leave a bit of a sour taste. If they were going to charge that much then they should have stated it a couple of months ago before people agreed to volunteer. DH is helping grill the chicken and volunteered before we were informed that there was a cost.

Did I miss a backstory about why her coach is suggesting a diet? Isn't she a young teen?
ETA: I see there's an allergy involved. Ditto the suggestion that a nutritionist could be really helpful. That's hard.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
Dear DS, Your gentle nature sometimes really cracks me up, especially in comparison to your step sisters. You pulled out a tooth today that was barely hanging on by a thread. It probably would have come out on its own if you breathed too hard. But lord, you'd think it was a major trauma. You had to go lay down because you felt nauseous and now you're walking around gently like you have some kind of injury you have to be careful about. Your step sisters used to tie their loose teeth to string and a nerf bullet and shoot them out of each other's mouths. Sorry if I'm bad at being doting, I don't have much practice with that. Signed, Stepmom who loves you
erbear, we are dealing with allergic reactions and she was informing the coaching staff what happened at the allergist. She asked for their opinion on alternatives to eating pasta (wheat)/dairy before practice which has been her go to. Most days I will crockpot the protein and DD will cook a half box of pasta noodles when she gets home to go with it. I would say 60% of her diet is carbs. I think the coach suggested Keto because it cuts the carbs but it doesn't cut the dairy. Yesterday the head coach suggested she switch rice for pasta and then eat everything she normally would minus the dairy. So chicken with rice or fish and rice instead of protein and pasta. Today the plan is for her to cook steak, sautéed onions, and white rice for her 2pm lunch before practice and thank goodness the girl likes to and can cook.
twinmomma, I would be having a hard time not telling your DS to knock it off he isn't hurt or sick.
My family may be an anomaly, but my boys are generally much less tough than my daughter. Boys are naturally sweeter I think and then learn that it’s not a trait adult men can have. There are pros and cons.
I used my icloud email address for all of my interactions with you. I have NEVER used or received an email to that account. Yesterday, I uploaded a resume, which I didn't want to do. And now the spam starts. To quote my children.. that's sus.
I can't believe the commitment you ask for from franchise owners! A 10 year contract and the low price of 35K (or more) and you can have your very own franchise. It's a lego camp for kids (after school & over the summer) so making it profitable is next to impossible.
signed,
sad my local franchise is closing because the couple that run it are retiring so looked into it myself
Thank you so much for allowing your kid to FaceTime Olivia Rodrigo’s concert to DD from your phone. I can’t imagine it turns out great, but the gesture is amazing and I love you for it.
Signed, Mom of an obsessed kid
PS.. you haven’t responded, but I hope my request that you pick up a shirt for DD if you happen to be at a merch table isn’t out of line.
