Wait-he was surprised that there were black journalists at a convention for black journalists? Seriously?
The clip I was listening to wasn’t focused on that quote. I interpret it more like his usual stream of consciousness commentary. Every word coming out of his mouth was idiotic or offensive ( mostly both).

I watched a video clip and someone in the comments said that Michal Cohen said when 45 does that close accordion position with his hands, it’s a tell that he is lying. Not sure if that’s true but I’m going to pay attention to it in more footage. I think everything that comes out of his mouth is lies, racism and misogyny though, which is why I usually read articles about it instead of listening to his voice.
I feel bad for all the journalists there having to listen to his garbage. How he interacted with the host interviewer when he was talking about Kamala’s heritage made me cringe in the worst kind of way.
So why did they invite him? Were they hoping he’d make an ass of himself, or do they genuinely think he aligns with the values of their organization?
The first article says it was a big debate in the organization. A co-chair is stepping down given her objection to the invitation happening.
It seemed they had the same debate with journalism and 45 that has been going from day one. When do you say, let’s not give this racist human a platform and when do you say this racist human is a major party candidate for president and should be interviewed.
So is this quote: "...and laid bare the difficulties the Republican nominee and his movement more broadly may have in taking on a woman of color without veering into misogynistic, racist invective."
Ya think?
I know they always invite both candidates, but man, Rachel Scott really drew the short straw having to actually be in relatively close proximity to his mouth foaming jackassery.

Y’all, the Cheeto has never needed an excuse to veer into misogynistic, racist invective.
Trump's remarks on yesterday's panel weren't a one-off. His campaign, for now at least, seems to be leaning in.
Trump followed up by posting a 2019 video of Harris discussing her Indian heritage with Indian-American actress Mindy Kaling, labeling Harris a "stone cold phony." At his rally hours later in Harrisburg, Pa., the Trump campaign displayed a Business Insider headline recognizing Harris as the first Indian-American elected to the Senate. Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), Trump's running mate, speaking last night in Glendale, Ariz., said in prepared remarks that Harris is a "total phony who caters to whatever audience is in front of her."
I am honestly stuck here between like just straight guffaws and utter confused face that trump's people looked at Kamala and said, "I know. Let's try and pit the Indian and the Black people AGAINST each other." You...thought that would work? are you under the impression that they're like...rival gangs?? The fuck is this?
Not getting at all AT ALL into the complexities of belonging that come with being of mixed heritage, because this ain't that, YOU CAN BE BOTH DONALD. IT'S ALLOWED.

NO!!! NO you can't, that's cheating & the racial hierarchy system in this country is rigged!! lol..
In all honesty, Trump probably can't comprehend being multiracial. He just thinks it's unfair she gets to "use the minority card" (<-- as he sees it) in two different ways... NO FAIR!!!
From the article that neverfstop posted: "Anthony Scaramucci, the venture capitalist and former Trump ally who served as his White House communications director for 11 days, posted: “Whoever told him to do this interview should be fired.”

This line of attack is making me feel a lot being a minority and having mixed race kids. I remember having arguments with a coworker when I was in college (he was also a college student) where he tried to tell me what race I was and that how I identified was WRONG. I'm still mad about that "debate" 25 years later. It makes me want to scream.

What I don’t get is why his team ACCEPTED the invitation. Either this is their first day on earth and they’ve never met Trump before, or they believed they could control/convince/educate him somehow.

lolol.
I will admit, I had a good laugh thinking that there’s someone on his team who is sabotaging the campaign.
I know that’s not the case…but IN WHAT WORLD would someone think that this would turn out even remotely decent for him???
