I was clued into this article by Tabitha Speaks on TT - and she also linked a Rachel Maddow clip. This is super scary.

I worked for my county elections in 2020 and 2022. I will say, CO has it figured out. Very specific protocols for the machines, for the ballots, for the counting. At every step there needs to be bipartisan teams verifying things or delivering ballots to the next step.
It is also rewarding work, seeing people come out to vote in person, even though the majority of our system is mail-in.
Unfortunately I know that isn’t the case in more gerrymandered or red areas, but if this work calls to you, do it, it’s worth it.
