I guess I have really failed at the weekly threads this summer! What have you been reading this week?


QOTW: What would you like to see as a future QOTW?

This week has been crazy stressful, so sticking with books that don’t need a lot of brain power. I reread Lost by Sarah Beth Durst (it was supposed to have a sequel that never got published, so not a satisfying ending) and am not reading Troubles in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand, which is the last in an interesting but not amazing trilogy.

QOTW: these are always a struggle to create! I’ve been here long enough that I should remember how it got started, but I don’t.

Funny Story by Emily Henry (ok but I didn’t get why she had money issues which the set up of the book sort of hinged on)

A Bitter Feast by Deborah Crombie (almost done the series! I’ve been listening to them since May)

My Darling Boy by Helen Cooper (disappointing)

Black TV: Five Decades of Groundbreaking Television from Soul Train to Black-Ish and Beyond by Bethonie Butler (interesting)

Swiped by L.M. Chilton (so bad)

This week I read How to Know a Person, The Paris Novel, and Lies and Weddings.

Currently listening to Before I Do, in which a young woman has an incredible day with a man, never sees him again, and then 7 years later he shows up at her rehearsal dinner.

Just started A Wedding in Cornwall about an American hired to be an event coordinator at an English country estate.


QOTW: What would you like to see as a future QOTW?  maybe book recommendations based on certain themes? Like favorite thriller/romance/mystery

I finished The Faithless Hawk last night. A few things were predictable but overall I really loved it. The wrapped up the duology so well but I will miss the characters.

QOTW: I need suggestions so I can actually do the weekly post! If it was left to me it would be all food and travel.

I'm currently reading Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler

Qotw: I don't have any suggestions. I've started weekly reading posts to try and help out, but always give up because I can never come up with a good QOTW.
