I finished Long Island Compromise. I liked the themes (social class, living with trauma, etc.), and the characters were well done, but the story didn't hang together as well as I thought it would. I think I was hoping for a big ending like in Fleishman Is in Trouble.

I’m about 50% of the way into this one and liking it so far. I’m a sucker for a generational family story lol

Ok I finished this and she used the word “preternaturally” FOUR TIMES. Which is honestly three too many times in one book.
I finished A Man Called Ove Sunday and just finished It Ends With Us this afternoon and started It Starts With Us. It’s been a long time since I have read more than sporadically and I’m really enjoying it so much. Can’t wait to watch the movies too.
I finished Katherine Center's The Rom-Commers today. I generally tend to prefer more non-fiction books, but am slowly learning that there's stuff to be learned in a lot of fiction books, too. This was an easy and enjoyable read with a few nuggets of wisdom added in.
I'm now reading Check & Mate. It's fine so far. Didn't realize it was YA.
Tomorrow, when my earbuds are charged, I plan to listen to My Stroke of Insight: A Brain Scientist's Personal Journey.

This is the kind of review I’m here for. I notice these things too, and I’m like, did the editor not catch this nonsense??
I just finished Slade House and liked it, also Margo’s Got Money Troubles was a fun read. I just started The Summer Pact by Emily Giffin.
I’m looking for audio book recommendations, I’m driving alone ~10 hours round trip this weekend and am hoping to get at least most of the way through a book in that time.
Ask Again, Yes Wellness house on the Cerulean Sea The Extraordinaries The Women Dave Grohl’s memoir
I started this and really love it so far - thanks for the rec!
I also just started The Woman at the Light, and I'm loving it.
I finished The Woman at the Light. 1 1/2 stars.
TW and spoilers:
It dealt a lot with racism, and I didn't think it did a good job of it and brushed a lot of things aside. There was a lot of justification of bad things, because those were the times and how they'd grown up. I liked the general premise of the book, a female light keeper, but that was honestly only a quarter of the story.

I just read The Five Year Lie by Sarina Bowen. I picked it up expecting a thriller, but it was more romance than I expected. I really liked it, though. 4*

If I recall correctly, friends said Cloud Cuckoo Land was excellent on audio. It’s a wonderful book.
Finished the 5 Second Rule by Mel Robins. Typical self-help book. Just do this and ALL your problems will be solved! Bleh. But OK to have on in the car as I was taking kids to/from places.
Listening to Not In It to Win It by Andy Stanley. (About religion and politics.) Really good so far!
I had never heard of this but it showed up 3 times as shelves by 3 different people in my Goodreads emails this week, so I def put it on my to read shelf. I'm deciding if I should wait to recommend it as my next book club read or just request it from the library now (when there's a book lots of people are talking about I usually bring it up and suggest it once, but if it doesn't get picked, go ahead and read it myself). I haven't read anything great lately...Ali Hazelwood Steminest novellas were pretty terrible. Same Time Next Summer was decent.

You May Now Kill the Bride was terrible, and I only finished it because I wasted an Audible credit on it (and I don’t want to max out my refund status. Lol).
