I finished Rainbow Rowell's newest, Slow Song, and while it started well I ended up meh at the end. 3 stars. I loved Eleanor & Park so maybe my expectations were just too high, but I found neither main characters very likeable.

I just finished Yellowface. 2 stars. I almost DNF twice but it’s a pretty quick read and I kept hoping it would get better at some point. It was rec’d by a friend who usually makes really good recommendations so I had reason to hope. It’s supposed to treat issues of race and diversity but fell flat.  The protagonist was terribly unlikeable and the book was kind of a big whine about the publishing business. 

I’m starting The Lion Women of Tehran and hoping it will be much better!
