It would go to the courts. And Trump loaded the lower courts and the Supreme Court with Trump loyalists.

I *think* that they can spin this and say whatever they want. “The public didn’t see the worst of it.” “We were so smart and so fast, we intercepted them.” “The dems made them do it.” And the R base will 100% believe it. It will take up time in the courts, it will cast doubt on the election (at least for the Rs).

There is absolutely no doubt that when Trump looses to Harris, the R campaign plans to and will use every dirty trick, lie, legal maneuver, illegal maneuver, microphone, rally cry, airwave, and stall tactic from November to January.

How do we know? He did it last time.

This time :
-> He said he would.
-> His team has had 4 years to better prepare.
-> His new crop of sycophants don’t care that his last crop all went to jail for it (and/or spent millions in legal fees).
-> His people are desperate to cling to power and this is their last and best chance to secure it before it completely gets away from them.

I think the idea is that they will say Iran hacked them andplusalso Iran must have interfered with the election in other ways that make the outcome invalid.

I'm also not following this train of thought. Not saying he won't claim it, but he's not in power to have "inside" information about election interference. So he could say it happens, and the people with actual information will say no and end it. I work for a government agency and get almost weekly emails about things being done to prevent election interference from foreign entities.

It still hasn't been confirmed that it was Iran that hacked into his campaign, Trump campaign just claimed that it was a day after Microsoft publicly said something about Iran hacking US campaigns.
TBH I think there's prob more interesting stuff then JD Vances background if you had access to the entire campaign. And JD Vance is already not well viewed so "leaking" information about him isn't super damaging.

I’m wondering if Trump pre-emptively claimed Iran hacked him so that when his campaign gets caught hacking Harris, he can say “It wasn’t me, must’ve been Iran…”

My mom falls for this Trump tactic 100% of the time. I literally had a conversation 2 hours ago that went (Mom): Well, you say my guy (trump) does xyz. So why shouldn’t I believe your guy does it too? If my guy does it, so can yours!”

Cybersecurity director and former threat analyst here. Below is the AP news link which has the Microsoft threat intelligence bulletin on foreign malign influence that references Iran but does not directly mention the Trump campaign. Also, not naming the campaign is Intelligence Community best practice where dis/mis/foreign malign influence is concerned. By way of explanation, election interference is not just an Iranian thing - Russia, China, and sometimes North Korea have historically attempted it as well.
