I have been super nauseous every morning for the last week or so. A couple of times, I threw up a little. I am NOT pregnant. I can't figure out why I keep feeling like this. Anyone ever experience this? It's miserable.
Today is the first day of middle school for DS1 and first day of 2nd grade for DS2 but he’s sick. I’m glad he’s my second child and it’s not kindergarten andI’ve been around long enough to know it will be fine, but I’m still a little sad about it.
And I took a sick day to stay home with him and don’t know what to do with myself. I don’t want to clean but also don’t want to waste the day.

We are on vacation, and I just love it here. I would move here when we retire. Aside from a few bumps with DD, we are having a nice time. Lots of time at the beach.
Well I brought Covid home with me from vacation. 0/10 stars
Just like the first time I had it in 2022, the worst part so far is my loss of taste and smell. It’s so disorientating and I love eating so I’m distraught that I can’t taste lol

I got a letter from my attorney that exH is offering me a lump sum payment in exchange for no longer having to pay child support. LOL no thank you buddy. I think he expected me to throw myself at his feet with gratitude or something. Not only is he trying to pay less overall support, but he wants that to also include any future medical. I literally laughed when I read the offer and quickly told my attorney to tell him to go pound sand.

I used to get that way when I was younger. For me, I think it was low blood sugar, but I couldn’t stomach eating anything. I started making myself smoothies to sip on as soon as I got out of bed. It helped a lot.
Made it to the second day of school before getting a call from the nurse, DS fell awkwardly on his wrist at recess and unfortunately has a compression fracture A good friend in the neighborhood is PT who specializes in hands/wrists, so she assessed it for us after school yesterday and told us to get it x-rayed at urgent care. They then referred us to the orthopedist she actually works for, so she pulled some strings and got us in basically first thing this morning.
I am so sad for him, he was so excited to start soccer next week and that's likely to be limited participation, and the temporary splint makes using a computer mouse really hard so gaming was kind of a no-go last night, so it was like his two favorite things were taken away from him. We'll see what the ortho says this morning, but we're hoping treatment is relatively quick and the cast/brace/whatever isn't too uncomfortable/inconvenient. At least he's a lefty so it's not his dominant hand?
I think my "boss" (on paper) is actively working against me. There's some shady stuff going, but if you don't put it together, it's hard to really see.
I'm white, he's white. I'm not covered by a union. I don't think I have enough for EEO.
There was another job application I considered, but it had a bunch of weird remote language in it about being called back to the office, but didn't specify where the office might be, so I didn't finish.
ETA: I say on paper because he started last November and I've been detailed on assignment since January by his boss, who loves me. So it's a weird situation and I've tried to ask her questions about how to deal with this, but I may need to come out and ask bluntly.

@@@ My partner was with our daughter all day yesterday. He ended up taking her "back to school" shopping and got her the cutest boots and sneakers! I’m all about snagging stuff on buy nothing but these are so cute. I actually don’t know her shoe size cause he takes care of shoes, so I’m glad he got it all taken care of!
My gmail is my first initial and last name, there is a man in Florida with the same first initial and last name as me. I assume he must have a similar email because I occasionally get emails for him, it is generally restaurant receipts so I just delete and move on.
Over the weekend I got an email from a website called f*ckbook asking to confirm my email. Obviously I did not but I was just looking for something in my junk folder and there were literally 300+ emails from the last 3 days from “local horny girls”.
Thankfully it went to me junk but I really want to message this guy (I believe I have found him on Facebook) and be like hey guy if you are going to subscribe to porn sites, please verify you are using your own email.
When my company does annual bonuses, we have to remember to change our 401k contributions before and after if we don't want the bonus to contribute. I got an email from the 401k company this morning suggesting I up my contribution to 3%. Apparently I never adjusted my contribution after bonuses were paid out... I had it on my calendar, so I'm sure I did something, maybe I failed to click something to submit it. I'm so annoyed. More with the system than myself.
fernweh, I've had that happen, too. For a while I was getting emails from Sony Japan (in Japanese) and the only way to unsubscribe required logging into your account... which obviously I didn't have access to. I also get a lot of Canadian bank transfer emails that are not meant for me. I hope whoever is supposed to be getting the funds actually gets them because the emails look like action is required. I don't *think* they're spam, but since they're clearly not for me I just delete them.
omg this IL Thanksgiving family vacation is going to be the death of me. In a bizarre twist, now SIL2 is causing problems. We were so.close. to booking it two days ago. At this rate we’re going to just be at their house for a week and then nobody (except H because he doesn’t care at all) will be happy lol

I had my cortisol checked yesterday, assuming it may be high. It was super low though. .8 when normal should be 6.2 to 19.4. I'm trying not to panic while I wait for my dr to call me back because the internet suggests this is scary. It would explain why I'm absolutely exhausted all the time, struggle to get up in the mornings even though I got 8 hours of sleep, and my joints and muscles hurt. I figured I was just getting old.

deadwing, at my current company, we do not have the option to have 401k contributions deducted from our annual bonus. It's kind of nice to not have to remember, but some years it would be nice to have the option to contribute some of my bonus $ to my 401k. I would imagine my company has it set up that way so it doesn't have to pay the match on contributions from bonuses.
DD is going to a friend's birthday part/sleepover tonight. She has been a bit of a hermit this summer, so I'm glad she will be getting out of the house and being with friends for about 24 hours. They are going to the mall for part of the time, so we'll see if she picks anything out for a "first day of school" outfit.
Listening to Obama last night say something about his experience 16 years ago. I looked at MH and was like "No, 16 years?" and then did the math. It doesn't seem like 16 years ago!

followyourarrow hope it's just something like you need to boost your vitamin C and not a real difficult fix.
wanderingback my Dad always took me shopping, even for homecoming and prom gowns. He owned a furniture store and was good at choosing fabrics and coordinating patterns which translated well to clothes, he has great taste. I remember the women in the dress stores eating it up that there was this big tall man with his southern accent telling his daughter "I think we can do better" "Now that's more like it, that's in style, this is what we're looking for!". So sweet your partner is also ignoring the "norms" and just jumping in and doing whatever your DD needs.

I used to get someone else’s emails. I learned Gmail does not recognize (if that is the right way to put it) periods. So my email was firstname.lastname@gmail and I would get emails for firstnamelastname@gmail all the time. Made me wonder what of my emails they were getting.

My email is firstnamemiddleinitiallastname and I get emails for firstname.middleinitial.lastname often. Usually vet reminders for their pet.
In a weak moment last spring, I agreed to be the registrar for C's cheer league. OMG, I seriously underestimated the amount of work. And the attitude of some parents. Last night at the field a mom was chewing me out because I didn't have her daughter's paperwork. She's insisting that she sent it in back in April. Finally I said "how did you send it? If it was an email it should be in your sent items." She looked me right in the eye and said "I FAXED IT!" I just looked at her and said "We don't have a fax machine." She quickly stopped yelling and walked away lol.
I get norwegian emails all.the.time Difference is that instead of .com, theirs should be .no There was one time where I got a whole slew of them in a week from a teacher regarding this person's child. I sent a message back to the teacher saying that she had the email address incorrect and she responded that mine was what was on file, even though I explained that I am in the US and didn't have a child in her class. I hope that kid got to go on their field trip without their permission slip that was emailed to me!

What is with this new trend of doctors offices and pharmacies calling me from random numbers that don't come up on caller id as the place of business, and asking ME to confirm my date of birth and my mailing address to them? This has happened at least 5 times over the last 2 weeks. Today it was a doctor's office and the woman calling said "Hi my name is Sarah and I'm calling from your doctor's office. Can I speak with Lilypad? Oh this is Lilypad? Great, can you tell me your birthdate and address so I can confirm it's you?"
What? No, I'm not giving some random person who literally said "I'm calling from your doctor's office" my info. She finally told WHICH doctor she was calling from (after she said, well if you want to know what I'm calling about, either give me your info or COME IN PERSON so we can verify it's you) so then I was like, Oh, yeah, I saw that doc and you can just close my account, I'm not coming back. But even that wasn't enough, she STILL wanted me to confirm my info. I finally said, listen, my insurance doesn't cover the procedure I need the way you want to bill it. So I'm not going through with it at your office. I've already spoken to 3 different people there and asked them to close my file.
But she was SHOCKED that I wouldn't just divulge my PII over the phone. What the heck?!

I do not understand fights in the crowds at sporting events. I want to know what the involved think the next day(s) after. Are they proud? embarrassed?

It's August 21st - I should not be running the heater in my office! I'm wearing jeans and long sleeves and I'm still cold
I feel you. I don't know why they keep these offices so cold. It costs them so much extra in energy costs. I had to wear sweaters in the middle of summer on 90+ degree days.

I went to a concert a couple weeks ago and getting out of the parking lot was a traffic nightmare.
Someone tried to merge their car into the line to leave (as you do with these things), and the guy behind him got out of his car with a golf club and threatened to smash the windows of the merging car.
There was a woman in the car with him, and I've been thinking about her since-- like, is he always like this? Or did this make her re-evaluate what kind of person he is? Because WTF.

If it helps at all, my son has had a couple soccer teammates end up with broken wrists over the course of the last two soccer seasons and once they had a cast on the ortho doc was okay with soccer. They had to get creative with wrapping the cast during practices and games but it was doable. Fingers crossed for good news at the ortho doc!

Alcohol. My husband used to have season tickets to the patriots and one of the reasons he gave them up was because he said half the time it was like amateur hour and people were drunk and out of control. Kenny Chesney is playing tonight and this weekend at Gillette and I have already seen a bunch of nurses I know posting about how crazy the ers will be with the drunk fans.
