We tend to get things from fairs, like others on here. I already know which artist we’ll be going back to to find a piece at the next town’s art festival next month.
Our town library and town hall always have exhibits up with local art on different themes - they rotate every month or two. Usually everything is for sale (unless it’s annual exhibit from the middle school).

Juniper Print Shop has so many types of art that you can buy in MANY sizes, but the best is if you want to fill a large wall, you can buy a print that fits in the very large Ikea frame (forget the name of it). You can look at their Instagram for examples. I just went and looked at the website and they are having a 25% off sale for labor day.
I have bought from there, vintage and thrifting is a fave, mass market stuff at Amazon, Target, Home Goods. I love maps so have a very large topography map of the US that I framed with a frame I made. I love mirrors and consider them art as well.
Another vote for local art fairs. A big group of my family went to Asheville this summer, and we went to a couple of local artists spots. We saw some amazing pieces and now have a bunch of new artists to follow.
My favorite thing to do is to buy prints of artists' pricey work (because that's all I can afford) and frame them. That way I can enjoy their work in a way that my budget can provide.

I just kept my eyes open and found stuff along the way. I’ve gotten stuff from Amazon, Etsy, Ross, z galleries, pier 1, street vendors during travels, and other random places.
