I keep my house pretty clean, but sometimes it is nice to have someone come in and help out. I have a house cleaner that comes for 2 hours, 1x month. I had been having her do like walls, blinds, ceiling fans, behind small furniture, etc., but I cancelled this month because I’m just not sure what I would have her do.
If you had someone for just 2 hours month, what kind of things would you want done?
Three things I've done recently that probably need to be done more often - 1) wipe out the trash can/cupboard in the kitchen, 2) clean the tops of the kitchen cupboards, 3) clean the tracks in the window frames.
Well, I'm not sure how this is a problem. My house always has something that needs to be cleaned lol.
Kitchen, bathrooms, wash shower curtains, wipe down walls, mop floor, vaccuum stairs, overall vacuuming, wipe down tiles, clean grout, empty trash cans, take out recycle, clean dishwasher, microwave, oven, change sheets. Does she do any organizing?
I have three dogs, one of which is a slobbery Great Dane. I have to clean my walls regularly. I never did before we got this monster...except right before painting the walls.
I can't imagine a world where my house is so spotless that there is nothing to keep someone busy for 2 hours. I am jealous. I'm a terrible housekeeper.
Definitely deep clean of appliances-- oven, fridge, toaster oven, coffee maker. Windows. Baseboards. Bathrooms always need a deep clean even if I just did it.

If I had someone come for 2 hours each month, I would create a schedule/rotation of the following:
-Deep clean bathrooms, focusing on showers/tubs and grout on tile floors -Clean inside of fridge and freezer -Deep clean oven -Dust blinds -Clean interior windows -Deep clean of dusting surfaces -Deep clean dusting of interior doors (we have 6-panel wood doors) -Baseboards -Kitchen cabinets -Shampoo carpets -If nothing "needs" to be done cleaning-wise, maybe help with some organizing and decluttering
Now I feel like I want to actually hire a cleaner once a month!
This is a really good idea! I've been thinking of cancelling our cleaners because while they are fine for the basics, I feel like some of the deep cleaning never happens and some of the basic stuff that they do doesn't take long anyway. I've never thought of just having them come a couple of hours a month and focus on a few specific things.
I'm not helpful to you question, but thanks for the idea!

We have cleaners come every other week and it was the same as having them come once a month as they keep on top of things so it’s not as much time when they come regularly. The do bathrooms deep dive, kitchen deep dive, vacuum, mop, change sheets, dust, clean windows and I’ve had other requests for them such as baseboards, doorknobs/light switches and other randoms but feel I could make a huge list of things I never would get to. They clean out my mircowave, stove, and oven every visit which surprised me at first but I love it.

I would LOVE for someone to come clean all my baseboards, all the crevasses in all the cabinets that collect dust that I never clean, all the air return registers, windowsills, etc.
I just had my 11yo son clean our walls as a chore last week. It's definitely not something that we do regularly, but was good to have done! We have the O'Cedar Spin Mop and I gave him a clean mop head and hot water + powdered Tide and he went to town!
We sometimes have ours vacuum the cars or help with a bigger project like a basement cleanout, fridge cleanout, oven cleaning, etc. Ask them what other services they can do outside of routine cleaning.
