Cocktail attire for tween boy question

Is a light gray suit acceptable for a cocktail attire event (Bar Mitzvah celebration)?

I vote yes, especially since it's for a fun type of event.

Maybe check with the hosts or other kids on what people are wearing.  But I also assume that it would be just fine.

Of course, I hope the suit still FITS. I swear this kid grows two inches overnight.

Most boys in our circle (north of Boston) wear a navy sport coat, khaki pants, and air force 1s or Jordan's to mitzvah parties.
