wildrice - I had a visceral reaction to you mentioning impressions. 30 years later and I can still feel that fucking goo going down my throat :::shudder:::
It didn't go down my throat today at least! So maybe it is marginally better than 30 years ago lol. But it's basically the same material and it was messy and smelled bad. Yuck!
I'm getting a new bite guard after I get my permanent crown. I asked how long I had to wait after getting the crown to get impressions and he said they would digitally scan my mouth at my crown install appointment!
Thank you eb777888 for bringing Chimp Crazy to my attention. We started watching last night, and it is even more bananapants than I could have imagined.
I'm always available for trash TV recommendations! We're all caught up so we only have one episode left. I'm so sad for these chimps. It's weird how it dips from tragedy to the ridiculous.
My kids left the stand-alone (full!) freezer in the garage open last night. Again. And, I didn't notice until a few minutes ago. This is the 4th time in 4 years. So much waste.
That sounds frustrating!
We have a freezer temperature alarm for this reason! Our freezer is in the basement so we can hear it. Garage might be harder to hear, but it may be worth it.

I’ve been trying to get a claim paid for dental, and I called in. The woman on the phone said, “well before I transfer you, you should know it’s 4:27, and we close at 4:30.”
Well maybe fix my online access issue, and I’ll stop calling at 3 minutes until closing. Also, I’m a teacher. When your hours are 9-4:30, it makes it hard to call.
I was at a friends bday event this weekend and her and her family used to play with these chimps! Her uncle was their vet for years prior to when the story starts. One of his daughters was there, and she (at the time) thought it was totally normal to “go to Connie’s and play with the baby chimps”. Now she’s horrified and questions her parents decisions…She said she knew “Travis” well, the one in GA that ripped off his owners face.
I guess when her dad “quit”, the only other vet nearby took them on (whom I actually know! He’s the brother to one of XH’s frat brothers). Didn’t take him long to realize something wasn’t right and then I guess she couldn’t find any vet care?
I haven’t seen it (don’t have HBO), so this was all a conversation so to my friend and her cousin.
You know a surprising amount of chimp vets! What are the odds?!
Ha! These are not chimp specific vets. Just vets in a rural area, so used to both household pets and farm animals. Guess they take what they can get.
tacokick Can you mix concrete & water into a tall Home Depot bucket? It’s not permanent. It’s heavy enough to stay put in cold weather but you can probably move it. You could even stick a poll in with a “No Turning” sign. You could set up 2 or 3 of them in the driveway.
Or put the bucket with concrete into something prettier if you want it to be decorative.
Do you need access to the driveway from the street ? If you have money to spend, drop 2 posts in the ground and attach a one panel fence across the driveway.
The buckets are a good idea.
It’s sort of a weird spot. My parents and their next door neighbors bought and split up the lot between their houses that was abandoned/foreclosed on and this is the former large parking pad of that property. I only own part of the paved area so I’m limited to what I can do there.
We have a gravel spot closer to the house we park on so we don’t really need the space at all except on the rare times there is a need for overflow parking. If people would stop turning around on it, I’d just let it sit empty.

We own a cabin and the former owners put a thick wire line that runs between 2 trees (that is locked) on the second half our drive way so that people don't use it as a turn around.
Great. The orthopedist wants me to see a surgeon for the ankle I sprained nearly 18 months ago. She said that one of the ligaments may need to be surgically repaired. Just my luck.
Ok Universe--it's over. Give me something good for once!

Amazon sells bluetooth thermometers that will alert your phone if the temp drops below a certain temperature. I bought one after my kid left open the freezer. It helps me catch it before I lose a freezer full of food.

Why did my dentist decide to be old school about this? I am so jealous of all of your high tech scans lol.

You just can’t catch a break! I hope it doesn’t end up being serious.
I’ve felt crappy all week, like I have Covid, but I’ve tested twice and am negative but I was wheezing today on my (very slow ) run so not sure what’s up.

I hope that is not the case! I just had 3 ligaments repaired on June 19, and am just now able to walk very short distances without a boot. Not gonna lie, it was very hard. If you do find out you need a repair, send me a bat signal - happy to share my experience and offer tips. Good luck!

My dentist is old school about this too, but he's my parents age (70ish) so I guess it makes sense.
I did Invisalign a couple years ago and my orthodontist's office had the fancy new digital scanner that didn't require the gloppy impressions and I was just so thrilled by it, lol.

I actually wonder if it's a dentist vs. orthodontist thing, and how many impressions they have to take to make the new tech. a worthwhile investment? My kids Ortho. who also does invisalign does the digital scanning too, but I'm guessing they use it quite often.

I missed a call from a new doctor's office last night. Voicemail says "we close in 45 seconds, so call us Thurs or Fri". Uuugh then just call me tomorrow (Thurs.) Also where were these earlier hours when I had to work until 6/6:30 sometimes 8 PM for maaany years. I can't make calls if I'm working until everyone's closed.
