I need to know more. I want to watch but am afraid I’m going to feel sad for the chimps.
This is why I don’t think I can watch.
I watched it with knowing nothing about it, and based on the title was worried about the same. I do feel sad for the chimps, but not in a way that made the show not fascinating… I think if you could watch tiger king, you can watch this (same director).

I’ll admit I’m not like the world’s biggest animal lover but I’m not a monster and I don’t think it was horrible. It’s not like there was really any abuse of the animals like you may think. Nothing like malnutrition or injuries or anything like that.
The sanest comment came from the woman getting Buck’s tattoo on her leg when she said these chimp moms are doing it for themselves and not for the animals.
And call me horrible, bit I loved the look on her face at the end when her vu ble was burst about adult chimps. Did she realize how close she may have come to dieing?
Complete insanity. Tonia saying she'd divorce her husband if she could get her chimp back, and then still wanting them after what happened in the last episode. I told my DH I like my pets to be much less intelligent than me. My Labs are solid B- dog students and I like it that way!

Preach. These animals are just a vessel for their neuroses.

*SPOILER ALERT*
We've made it through the first 3 episodes. I called Tonka being alive at the end of E2 when she went to visit him in his basement enclosure. J was STUNNED.
Bad wigs, bad eyelashes, feeding chimps fast food .... its a wreck.
